"Betty". My first grow.

Hi. Newish to site. Have her in the outdoor section as I was looking for some answers but figured I'd put up a grow log.
I have experience with indoor but not my own. Have helped buddies with there's. This is my first plant and obviously she's outdoors. Started from some random seeds I've had from years past. 100% from my buddies grow bud. Couod be one of 5 or 6 strains but at this point in time I'm leaning towards Sour D as she doesn't appear to have much for Indica traits during flower. She was put out at the end of May right into this raised bed. She seemed to like her new home and so it begun. Giving her love until the confirmation came that she was indeed a female. Pppphhhheeewwww. Weeks of love didn't go down the drain. She was topped multiple times and her wings were spread early. Around the end of July/early August she started to change over. At what I'm calling week 7 here she is. Dubbed as "Betty" due to not knowing what she truly is. I do know this....she's a funky girl. Shes dumping trichomes and still has another 4 weeks minimum. Starting to notice some bulk in the lower buds and the space on the main colas is filling in. She is 5-1/2' tall and 6'-7' wide. She's stout. Her branches are stout and she's built to handle the weight to come. In the northeast and weather has been amazing for this grow. Very little rain. Great Temps. Just need it to cooperate for another month +. Started out with good soil. Veg was minimal notes. Hit her with Roots terp tea bloom when she started flipping and first few weeks then started in the bloom booster a few weeks ago. Mostly brewed with molasses, a bit of compost for extra bacteria and love. Hehe. She's loving it and so am I. Nice to have 100% control over a grow. 100% pumped at what she's doing.1000006513.jpg1000006507.jpg1000006508.jpg1000006510.jpg1000006332.jpg1000006506.jpg

Oh an anyone has permission to comment or whatever. I'm here to learn from people that have been doing longer and better than I have.

Welp it's been a tough few days with Betty. Covered her up for the rains. After uncovering her I was greeted by caterpillars. Have picked probably a dozen off buds. This morning I found my first bud rot. Setting up my hanging area now and going to chop her early. Between the caterpillars and now bud rot appearing......it's time to take her while she's mostly still good I'm weeks early but.......better early then nothing right?

Betty is hanging. Sorry we couldn't go the full distance. Caterpillars and a few small spots of budrot got me paranoid and I chopped her. Definitely trying again next year with known strain and genetics that flower quicker. She's frosty though at 8-9weeks. No real huge buds. Lots of popcorn sized stuff but I don't mind that one bit. Already figuring out getting power to the shed and an grow room in there. Mini split, etc. Hehe

Just wanted to stop by and congratulate you on your first run. Good on you too for showcasing and being honest where she fell a little short. Happens to the best of the best and nothing worth criticizing. Got some frosty girls and as long as you didn’t have to toss a shitload, you still walk away with a half decent win. Good job and keep going! If you’re gonna go the route of turning your shed into a room, make sure you seal her off somehow. Might lose a bit of square footing but way better than still being stuck battling the outside elements while technically being “indoors”

I appreciate you. Thanks for stopping by. I'm excited for the next run. Working on securing some strains id like to try. I will also start gathering equipment for the shed. I've got to get power to it so that's priority #1. I can insulate anytime soon.
