I carry a lot of water. Growing up around here, I am used to arid exposed hiking with few to no water sources along the way. I’m fairly comfortable carrying 3-5 liters at a time, depending on circumstances. I could probably do more if there was a particularly long stretch without water, but it would start to get uncomfortable.
2 liters usually for east coast, hardly ever need more. You get so used to the wealth of water, take it for granted.
It's nice to find stone lined springholes, similar to this, left over from trail crews, early settlements or bored hikers.

Power went out about 2 hours ago. It's 21 degrees out and 50 mph winds. I'm in the third day of 12/12 and the tent is getting cold and crazy humid. Hopefully we'll get power back on soon. I have a kerosene heater cranked up but the grow room has to stay closed up for lights out. Guess I'm staying up waiting for the power to come on so I can reset the dehumidifier and heater. Gonna need some extra strength coffee to get through tomorrow.

this hurts me in a physical way. like how when your balls are slowly squeezed, feels almost kind of cool at first but then all the emergency lights come on in your brain. this is the most specific reason why i grow outdoors..

and own several very large generators

I have a generator but power company is on scene and we're supposed to be back up by 0645 so it's not worth dragging out of the barn and gassing up. I'm sure the plants will be a little funky tomorrow but they should bounce back quickly. If I had better sunlight I'd toss a few outside but we're in heavy woods and outdoors just won't work without some tree clearing.

Meh what's one or two days sans sunshine, into each plant's life a little rain must fall :) I find it motivates their butts to hurry up and finish.

Just a little more snow...maybe another 1-2 inches is all. Just enough that I need to plow.

Then a busy afternoon...Pain management doctor, then calling hours, and a funeral tomorrow. My ex's 95 year old dad, who lived a good long life.

Finished setting up the new desktop yesterday. That was my best purchase in a while, and crossed another item of the winter "to do" list.
