Drinking from a straw or smoking can cause a dry socket and they can be bad. Dental surgery stinks, hope you're feeling better.

I remember getting my wisdom teeth out at 20. And the warning of the dry socket. They were obsessed with it. And feel like they told me to stick antiseptic soaked cotton balls in there if I had to smoke. But that was 18+ years ago. And many many drugs. There was definitely something about antiseptic mouthwash.

Each time a dentist gave me these directives, I thanked them for their service and proceeded upon my merry way.
On my way to the convenience store for an adult beverage, all the while puffing a pinch hitter.

Same, same, and I was 17. They gave me Valium, shit got me in trouble on the way home, didn't realize it was a truth serum. More office work today. Been raining 24+ hrs straight. Rivers be high already. Supposed to keep raining another 24. Kids got a taekwondo event tomorrow. Wife's going to take her. I'm going to stay home and do the taxes. I think that's all that's on the docket. Morning.

My dad pulled his own tooth out a few years ago, to save $100. Got good and drunk and pulled it with vice grips. Ouch!!
I have had 2 wisdom teeth pulled by a dentist. Oral surgeon wanted $1,000, or the dentist was $100. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected....But I wouldn't want to do 6 at once!!

I remember my friends little bother at about age 15 had all 4 removed before getting braces and I took care of him afterwards...He was hurting for a few days. They did give him Percoset though.
