Woke up wanting a cigarette. Then remembered I quit yesterday and didn't have any. So I went back to sleep in hopes of rip van winkling my way past the withdrawal. Didn't quite work. But it's supposed to be a decent sunny upper 50s degree day. So I'm going to take advantage and get some nice outdoor activities in to use my lungs with the dog and the little one. Morning.

Indians have the darkest eyes. I work with an Indian and he has the scariest darkest eyes I have ever met. No pupil separation and he has a dead pan expression alll the time. He is nice and interesting to talk to but I get such an uncomfortable feeling looking at those eyes. It’s like he is an alien from another planet.
Or carrying the weight of his ancestors…

I dropped em like a hot rock 23 years ago & never looked back.
No patch, nothing. Cravings were gone in less than a week.
The worst time to cave is when drinking.
Quit smoking cigs in 2016, still using the gum but down to biting 1mg pieces in half.

Wife is quitting caffeine starting today. It's been like talking to a narcoleptic who took sleeping pills and smoked a fat indica bowl. It's going to be fun tomorrow when her headaches kick in.

Thanks for sharing all the success stories. I went out and about today and stopped at my local gas station. And did not buy cigarettes. And I guess it's as simple as that. Just having the willpower to not buy them when I stop somewhere. It is weird though. It's been like a schedule and routine change too. I've had to find things to fill the gaps in my life where I'd be smoking cigs. It's like an extra hour a day really.

Get lots of snacks. You can lose the weight later,

Oh the happiest thing, I honestly can't remember how long it's been since I set foot in an impulse buy store affixed to automated gas machines. Quitting smoking, side story, oddly helped me lose weight. I wasn't going into convenience stores at least once a week for a carton (or every day for a pack.) Therefore I wasn't buying a Milkyway, ltr of soda, bag of chips, oh hey a spare charger too. Saved money beyond the cigs and lost weight.

Now they're throwing sub stores, fry stations, and slot machines inside too. I'm looking forward to getting an e-vehicle and forever not having a need to support those places again. Maybe it's the trauma of working at 2 different gas shacks in in the 90s, or its just getting older, but I saw having no need to go inside after getting gas as a major bonus to quitting smoking.

That's a good point. I only ever bought my smokes from this one gas station because they were like the cheapest cigs on earth lol. But yeah I'd waste 1.28 every day on a coffee there too. When I could just easily make another cup before I leave. It really is as much a lifestyle change as it is quitting cigarettes. Might as well start exercising too. Or just work harder at work.
