I did my time, too. Twice. Got married at 16, then again at 30. It is good to get married because you get to experience the joy of divorce. What's that old saying? "Why do I keep hitting myself with a hammer? Because it feels SO good when I stop."
So last week i was helping a friend move all there stuff before settlement, as they still looking for their new house i said they could put a sea container on my block until they find a new place. So the tilt truck guy turns up, and after reversing into a mound of dirt, tearing off the mud flaps to a nice newish truck, he then struggles to load the container. Eventually he makes it to my place to unload, he really wasnt having a good day.
So it turns out this guy was with his girlfriend for sixteen years buying a house together, working in the mines on good money, working his arse off every day, so they had a good life together.
a few weeks ago they get married, after 11 days in she says "i dont love you anymore, i want a divorce"
The guy is shattered, has to move out, sell up, quits his job in the mines and begs his old boss the guy with the tilt truck for his old job back,
No kids which is why i think she set up the wedding to make sure in the divorce she gets half.
Poor guy, going to work every day for 16 years, while she's probably humping his best friend or whatever at home, sounds like he's better off now, it would just suck having to start all over again like that, only two weeks after getting married, and after him putting food on the table for so long,
