Bought a RS 60x/100x scope it's so hard to use

Any tricks to using that thing. I can't keep my hand steady enough to get a good focus. Like I will see the trichs for a split second and I lose them then I gotta try and re focus again. Is there an easier way I am not thinking of?

you need to tear small leaf from bud n put on flat surface for best results. the cheap 3-4 dollar jewlers loupe 30-40 x are a little easier use, imo.

I get my loupes off eBay as well. It's the way to go, super cheap and they come in 60x up to 200x. I have the same one in that link ^

I had one of those when I first started checking my trichs.. The easiest way for me to focus was to press it against my wrist and focus on the hairs. Then I would hold the bud by a leaf to keep it steady as I looked at the trichs. I never was really happy with it.. I picked up a 30x loupe and it is a lot easier to work with..

That kinda sucks you have to tear a leaf everytime you check. I was thinking like some kind of a stand that could be made to hold the scope close enough and perfectly steady.

Dude I saw one of those on eBay the other day! That is awesome, I do have an iPhone so I need to do this. I bet you can get some sick pics of the trichs, and its prob way easier to see the color of them.

I feel like that phone case is gonna be just like the RS scope. Its the same microscope style. Not to mention the phones gonna take a second to focus on what it's seeing in the scope. Looks like a lot going on while holding your hands perfectly steady.

unlike the rs one, which I have and the other one, you don't have that steady problem. when you attach to the phone, you can zoom in with your touchscreen and take a pic. it works very well. But even without the phone, you can see everything very clear.

im having the same problem. is there any easy to use these thing lol and can u tell a amber trich when u see it or u gotta stare at it for a while?? (are the amber trich noticeable)

Jeez guys, just clip a very tiny small piece off a sugar leaf, you won't even notice it gone. In fact it is less than trimming when you harvest. A very tiny small piece off the tip and then put it on a background and sit the scope down and look at it. There is no possible way you can hold a microscope or any other 60x type of magnification steady enough to see under it.

Yes they stick out, while most trichs are going to be white, the amber trichs are golden brown, you will know it as soon as you see one.

then you never used the one I posted, because You can see EVERYTHING with it and it can be used while the plant is in flower.

I've got a few microscopes. Go to X60 instead of X100. You MUST hold the bud steady against the lens with your little finger as you turn the focus wheel. It IS possible even with the pocket one I bought on Ebay for €3.99. The larger LED light ones work best.

Oh come on. How many leaves does your plant have? Just clip a piece off. Throw it on a table. And place your scope on it.

Suggesting another piece of equipment is not the answer. Learn to use your investment and have patience.
