hi all , first harvest 2 weeks away and just got my boveda packs in the mail.... i just started my 2 week flush.. gonna wet trim , hang till stems snap , then jar for 2-4 weeks.... not sure if i got the right packs but i got the 8 gram 62% (wwent with 8 grams cuzz everyone said these packs cost 99 cents, and 8 grams was about that price) so my question is 1. do i have to some how activate these packs or just throw them in the jar , and do i put them below or ontop of the bud...2. do i still burp my jars daily? 3.are these the right size for quart jars...4.do i add them as soon as i jar my buds or let them cure alone for a few days till humidity drops some....

The packs that you purchased are perfect, they will keep the humidity at 62% . You either tape the pack inside the lid or put it on top of your buds. It is good practice to check the pack monthly, if it still feel jelly it is ok, if it gets hard it is time to replace. You can recharge your packs when they get hard, Google it and you will see how. I have had Bovedas in jars for a few weeks to a year. They work great for curing ( just make sure the buds are not wet when you put them in the jar) and as well for storing.
P.s no activation is required, just put them in jars, 1 per jar.

yup, best thing since sliced bread. As long as you hang dry till the stem breaks you should be ok to throw the weed in the jar with a boveda pack anywhere in the jar n call it a day.

ive always waited till it actually snaped. I have tryed it when they just crease and they are usually too wet. you can kinda feel the bud too if the stem seems like its almost there. smell it too cuz once its dry it should smell good

Trying my first batch with the pack. Hung dry a small plant until the stems snapped (4 1/2 days). 16.4 grams into a 32oz mason jar. I used a 62% pack (8g). I burped for the first time this morning after about 12 hours in the jar. I left the lid off for about 30 minutes. Seems to have a wet grass smell. I can't tell if the product is wetter or dryer at this point. I ordered a hygrometer which should arrive tomorrow.

Is burping once a day enough?

Also, I have a food saver system with storage containers. I'm wondering how it would work out using the vacuum containers and the Boveda pack together.

Any thoughts?

if the outsides of ur buds feel wet again ur supposed to pull it out put it in a brown paper bag until it feels dry again and then go back to the jar

Take ur buds out and spread them out appart from eachother so none are touching. Put a fan on low blowing accross them. Just so u feel the air slitley. Let them sit that way for about an hour. Put the buds back into ur jars and check agin in another 12 hours. If needed then repete. They sound waaaay to wet atm.

I just took a couple of the bigger nugs out and the stems still snap. The outsides still feel dry but not crunchy.

Edit:
I just added a gauge. I'll post RH in a little while.

Another key is whether the buds are sticking together or possibly sticking to the bottom of the jar. If they are, then at the very least leave the jars open an hour or so.

Even with the Boveda pack in the jar and the RH reading 65%, I'd still recommend opening the jars daily for at least 2 weeks to check for any hint of moldy or musty smell. Last year I tried leaving one jar unopened for a week with a Boveda pack inside to see if it smelled better, worse, or the same, and it developed a musty smell so I ended up dumping that one jar. You don't want to risk everything at this point

You answered my next question. Thank you. So far so good. Still at 65% and the smell is so much better. Feeling sticky and not wet. But not sticking together.
