I feel the same way, totally unnecessary .. I guess the writers know the show is coming to an end, and want it to end with a bang .I actually just screamed "Fuck you Walt!" at the end of the last episode. I think I've lost any sympathy I had for the character this season, killing Mike was a stupid move in my book even if he was about to get scooped. The guy commanded a great deal of respect and has plenty of people who'd avenge him, including Jesse.
grave stone.Wow Mike! What will happen next? Dun dun dun.
Epic last words"Shut the fuck up and let me die in peace"
Jesse PinkmanWow Mike! What will happen next? Dun dun dun.
The final season is only 8 episodes lol it's going to be an awesome finaleI hate Walter
It's actually gotten to the point
I dont think I will be buying next season
wow, didn't see that coming with mike.agree...the first few episodes were the weakest to date ...not sure why they are making Walt turn into a dummy after being a genius this whole time...like he is going to forget that old girl tried to have mike whacked and the rest of the guys on the list...the walt mike showdown was inevitable but kinda disappointing...not enough saul and why wouldn't walt move out of the house and do his thing...just seems like lazy writing to have walt get sloppy after all he has been through.
The moral of the story is eventually writers will sell out to the larger audience to make entertaining episodes at the sake of plot development/story line.wow, didn't see that coming with mike.
i think the moral is - power corrupts.
basic theme since middle english. no matter how smart or nice someone is, give them power and they will change in a heartbeat.
see the old stanford study here:

maybe you're right. but the writers have some say in it. just my opinion. classic theme. The moral of the story is eventually writers will sell out to the larger audience to make entertaining episodes at the sake of plot development/story line.
