Yes, that's what I used finally, but in another product, OBERON. I hate these poisons, but spider mites have been fucking around for too much time.

Good to hear the mites are gone. That thai Angola looks interesting. Have you found one cross your most excited to smoke? Out of the crops you pulled down already, is there a favourite? Why? What do you like about it?

I've planted some of the Mextiza Thai. I believe the effect is going to be very good on these, and I can forecast they will be quite fast and strong plants. There are 16 of them, I'll cull the males as soon as I can and flower the females without taking clones. It will be just a test grow to check how the male affected the Thai Angola effect.

There is another very interesting cross I made. I crossed this Thai Angola with a Red Snake male three weeks ago, and I can see the seeds growing, but I don't think there will be many. I want to grow the resulting seeds to select a very stimulating one, based just in the effect. I will upload pictures soon.

These are the plants I made crossing a Mextiza male with a Thai Angola female. They look different:



There are just 16 of them, I didn't want to have too many. I put them on the ground 5 weeks ago exactly. I plan to flower them as soon as possible, to get rid of the males and make a general impression of the cross. I'll get females enough for it.

I'll put them in 1l pots today, and I'll flower them when they reach 40 or 50 cm. For what I know, they won't stretch much under LEDs.

These are just some (Thai Angola) x Mextiza, there are 16 and all of them are similar.

After years crossing my Mextizas with different sativas, I guess this cross will be tasty, energetic and reasonably fast, but there are hidden surprises in genetic experiments like this one and you never know for sure what you get. I don't know how dominances will work on this one, but I guess that the Mextiza won't be that dominant in this cross as it was in other crosses, like for example with Jack Herer.

They aren't stretching at all, that's nice and possibly the lights are the reason for that.

I'll have to wait about a month before flowering them.

Great thread and pics. I was gifted some Mextiza seeds, f2 or more, you got me wondering if they will germinate. We will see?

Have some Punto Rojo seeds and have grown one plant. Not my thing but just one plant. Wondering how the Red Snake compares to the Mextiza?

I will hold off buying the Red Snake as I have the two strains it is composed of and have spent thousands all ready on dozens of strains. Have some Senegal too but no time yet to pop em.

Just finished with a couple Ko Chang Thai x Tom Hill Haze. Very nice sativa smoke, keeping a clone. Also a nice Original Haze I am keeping. Both gifted.

I didn't smoke many Red Snakes because I started with few seeds, but both Red Snake and Mextiza are very tasty and quite similar. If I had to point the differences between them, I believe Mextiza is stronger and faster, but Red Snake feelings are more sativish, so she's milder in effect but happier and more uplifting.

Plant these Mextizas you've got. They are very prone to problems due to endogamy, so you'll have probably a low germ rate.

I got myself some Ethiopian from Ace, I expect to get a nice energetic high. I've been crossing my best sativas for years and Mextiza is still the one I prefer, so I'll cross Ethiopian with Mextiza as well.

A lot of work ahead. Let's keep going.

I ran the Ethiopian. Was nice, a tea like flavor. Not really a keeper for me. Popping a couple Uhkrul or Indian line from Real Seed Co. Heard good things on it. Have most of the Indian lines. Manipuri, Kerala which I did not like that much just one plant though, Syrian, Sinai, Pavarti, Lebanese, Kuomani.

Getting ready to lay off the Mexicans and concentrate on Asian pretty soon. I grew up on Mexican and had the best highs from them, including Colombian, Asian, etc. Lots slag the Mexican lines but they had some great ones. Hard to find then and now though.

Running modern Zacatecas, Torreon, Chiapas right now, have not smoked them yet. The modern Mexican lines can be very good but contain indica. They started breeding indica into their lines mid seventies on. Look for sativa leaning phenos.

C99 is a must if you have not tried it. I favor the FDM version but Joey Weed is good too. Have Peak C99 in the fridge, have not popped any.

Mextiza Thai Angola. Magic sativa potion, I believe. There they are, I took some of them out of the tent for a better look. They look better and better every day. Now they are really growing and branching, and roots have colonized the coco, so I'll repot them and flower in one or two weeks.

The cat, as usual, enjoys eating some fine herbs.

This is a Mextiza bush just two weeks (14 days!) after setting the timer to 12/12. It is already budding while normally most of the strains just stretch for the first weeks. This plant reacts very very quickly to the switch.

This monster is the Thai Angola that came from outdoors. The pot is ridiculously little, just 3l, so it is normal it doesn't look real good. I don't know how much time it's been flowering but I believe it will need a couple more weeks.

I'm eager to see the resulting cross with my Mextiza.

These are the TAM (Thai Angola Mextiza). I've just put them in the flower room, they are still quite little for the sizes of the plants that I usually move there, but I'm afraid they stretch too much.

Remember it is the first time I grow them, so I'll test the Mextiza male I used. I don't know yet how these genetics mix.

Mextiza x (Thai Angola) males

In the last 10 days since I put the plants to flower they have stretched a bit, but not that much I'd expect. I believe that the kind of lights I use are behind the restrained stretch I find lately.

I've found diversity in these plants, there are some that start flowering as fast as the Mextiza, but others are slower. Some of their stems strongly smell like eucalyptus and anise.

I like diversity, in these crosses that means a nice fight between genes, and a selection could provide nice fruits. I have very good expectations with this cross.

I'll try to take some good pictures of the females.

After 25 days after switch, stretch is over and resin has started to appear. I see diversity but good looks overall. These two I pictured are just two plants out of the bunch.

I guess that under high pressure sodium they would stretch very much. Under LEDs the growth is very restrained. These plants from seed stretch much more than their parents Mextiza and Thai Angola.

The trichomes are very very little, like we should expect from a near 100% sativa heritage, and the bud formation looks much better than Thai Angola's.

I hope they don't need much more time, but since I know how both Mextiza and Thai Angola behave, I guess they'll be ready before 10 weeks.

I'm loving the results from these cross. Thai Angola Mextiza. They look fast, I love how nicely shiny they are after just 4 and 1/2 weeks of 12/12.

They'll be probably ready soon, I've seen some pistils come brown already. It is great that the fast-flowering genes in the Mextiza are easily transmitted to the descendants.

The resin smells like heaven, but let's wait to test them.

I'm really happy with these Thai Angola Mextiza. Everything depends on how does it smoke, but I'll probably plant a lot in a couple of months and I'll do a selection between them to find the best one I can. I'm guessing 9 or 10 weeks for most of the plants.

I'm impressed with the amount of resin and the quick maturation of these Thai Angola Mextiza plants. They've been just 6 weeks flowering and I believe in a week I can start harvesting them.

I see quite a lot of variation due to Thai Angola being an F1 and passing different genes to the Mextiza, but there always are these little trichomes and flowers and enormous amounts of fine resin.

I like them a lot, and I like very much the sativa bud structure.
These are just a couple out of them.

These are the Mextiza clone I keep and the Meao Thai x Angola (Angola Verde - Liamba). These couple have been flowering for exactly 10 days under quite a lot of LED power and they did stretch a little but I don't thing they'll stretch more. 60 cm for the Mextiza and 80 for the Thai Angola, a nice structure and a rewarding sight.

Mextiza (Left) has already started budding while the Thai Angola (Right) hasn't yet.
