name one led product from respectable companies from the last 3 years which specs didn't match up with real life measurementsspecs are useless without validation
Cree cxbname one led product from respectable companies from the last 3 years which specs didn't match up with real life measurements
what exactly was wrong, the lm/W from cree or the "calculated" efficiencies/PPF from forum members?Cree cxb
Well it kept on coming in below spec (compared to citi and vero) in cobkits tests and also under spec in ChilLeds sphere tests. Not sure where the problem was, but it didnt mmeasure up to datasheet, nor in lumens nor in par.what exactly was wrong, the lm/W from cree or the "calculated" efficiencies/PPF from forum members?
It's been suggested that Meanwell drivers are another..name one led product from respectable companies from the last 3 years which specs didn't match up with real life measurements
engineers are the only true scientists left. theories and data sheets are not science.lolIt's been suggested that Meanwell drivers are another..
You guys living in spec sheets really need to use practical data you yourself have captured from the field... my original comment that got quoted was in good fun but I'll go ahead and put the cynical engineer hat on for ya too if ya like
cree states for the 3590 3500k cd bin which chilledled tested a minimum flux @ 2400mA and Tj @ 85°C of 12000lm and 13237lm @ 25°C (calculated value). in the chilledled sphere test they tested them at 12467.11lm @ 2400mA and 25°C ambient (no Tj temps provided). where exactly did the spec sheet not match here with the RL measurements?Well it kept on coming in below spec (compared to citi and vero) in cobkits tests and also under spec in ChilLeds sphere tests. Not sure where the problem was, but it didnt mmeasure up to datasheet, nor in lumens nor in par.
So that is about 186lm/W after average driver losses. From my rep:
"We increase the efficacy from ~180lm/W to ~200lm/W."
Nice
I was gonna order some of those bridgelux vista's. But didnt. Regrettably. When are the eb gen 3s supposed to be released? Any idea?Supposedly arriving soon as per @mr. Amsterdam so it needs a thread for reference. 90 cri versions aswell, like we seen on bridgelux vesta.
@mr. Amsterdam might know more.I was gonna order some of those bridgelux vista's. But didnt. Regrettably. When are the eb gen 3s supposed to be released? Any idea?
"Regretably"?I was gonna order some of those bridgelux vista's. But didnt. Regrettably. When are the eb gen 3s supposed to be released? Any idea?
No they are still in stock. But I went with H inFlux_L06 strips instead."Regretably"?
Are they not stocked anymore? If not, could they be doing vesta gen2?
Probably a better option, although i dont know pricing. The vestas are almost 200 diodes for about a tenner. 12 strips on a hlg240 is doing a 4x2 nicely for us.No they are still in stock. But I went with H inFlux_L06 strips instead.
I got em on the cheap. Bc of my discount.Probably a better option, although i dont know pricing. The vestas are almost 200 diodes for about a tenner. 12 strips on a hlg240 is doing a 4x2 nicely for us.
If you don’t mind me asking, what discount?I got em on the cheap. Bc of my discount.
The rep told me gen 3 ánd gen 4 are hitting the market at the end of Q2 so i'm very disappointed because he first say that gen 3 was ready at the end of last year.I was gonna order some of those bridgelux vista's. But didnt. Regrettably. When are the eb gen 3s supposed to be released? Any idea?
If you get another chance to ask your friend please enquire about gen2 Vesta strips. I dont know why they arent more common around this forum, i mean nearly 200 decent diodes in 90 cri for around 10$?The rep told me gen 3 ánd gen 4 are hitting the market at the end of Q2 so i'm very disappointed because he first say that gen 3 was ready at the end of last year.
I get a discount through my job. I work for a sign/electrical company. I get to use their business account. I get roughly 40% off of the regular price on Samsung, bridgelux, some meanwell stuff. Mostly I just use it for the strips. If you don’t mind me asking, what discount?
