with T5s plants stay short and bushy in veg. I'm interested in it's affect on flavor and potency. and to determine if an LED can replace a UV tube in this application. in the past I've used 660nm diodes to add deep red to my T5s before 660nm plant bulbs became more affordable. i have also been looking into these https://www.ebay.com/itm/3w-3watt-full-spectrum-380nm-840nm-led-grow-chip-45mil-bridgelu-20mm-PCB-base/232067684442?var=531269299628 I like the broad spectrum red they produce and 660nm tubes need to be replaced every 9 month so these diodes may be a cost effective replacementyes man that's a nice investment and you have a dimmable way to control internode length in veg and also to counter the stretch when in need. they'll love it
And you got in your DeLorean and went back in time to sample those High Times magazine examples? Taste test? Not really broScience, but is definitely bull shit.
I am always amused by old heads saying how good their smoke was, "had to be at least 80% thc" this guy at the dispensary was saying.

Don't get me wrong, i am forever grateful to those early growers!
But damn, let's separate a good nostalgic feeling and respect for our roots from what is and what is clearly not good flower.
Personally, I have no doubt that plant selection is driving up thc levels in modern and popular strains. Seems like they are suited to extraction.I value honesty above anything else, so I guess you are right.
There are some people that claim that THC levels on MJ hasn't gone up during the last decade (or more) - as they say falsified police data... but maybe just a lie in defense? Since all the private labs begun testing there were some extremely high numbers which have never been found so high as of previously....
i germinated my seeds and when i put them in soil in each pot i put two seeds together hope the roots would bind together to grow into one plant....but its not wroking out to what i had hoped....is their another way to breed to seeds together into one plant????
https://www.rollitup.org/t/how-do-i-breed-two-seeds-together-an-grow-into-one-plant.100694/Wait you put two seeds in one pot and thought they would melt together ?
ROFL, thanks, I remember that thread.
......don't let your calculations be dreams..LOL, let me help you out a bit.
The Sun releases an estimated 384.6 yotta watts (3.846×1026 watts) of energy in the form of light and other forms of radiation. We are able to survive on Earth because the energy is spread over the area of a sphere with a radius of approximately 93,000,000 miles.
At the upper reaches of our atmosphere, the energy density of solar radiation is approximately 1,368 W/m2 (watts per square meter). At the Earth's surface, the energy density is reduced to approximately 1,000 W/m2 for a surface perpendicular to the Sun's rays at sea level on a clear day.
Happy calculating

You cant even see the flower lol its not trimmed at all.wish i could just to know for sure. but, i also know from experience that flower that looks like that usually has just as much flavor as it does visual appeal. just my experience tho.

I have a friend who is doing their first grow.
They are growing Bear Creek Kush. They were cruising right along and doing well until about 2 weeks ago. They were about 37 days into 12/12 when I noticed in a pic he shared with me that the tips of his leaves were burnt. It looked like classic nute burn when you get brown tips on your leaves. After pointing it out to them and asking questions I found out that they were actually watering them less than when they were in veg. They had been using a moisture tester and they said that they were going by it. I told them to just start watering them twice a day and hitting them slowly until they got some runoff. I also recommended that they water the fuck out of them 3 days in a row. A flush using just water. So over the course of the next 2 weeks the plants got worse and worse and these are pix from yesterday. This is 2 weeks from the initial burnt tips. At first I thought it was in fact nute burn from essentially not giving them enough water while having them on a regular feeding schedule per Mega Crop. I don't know if the damage was already baked into the cake and there was no stopping the damage or if it is something altogether different going on. Pics aren't the greatest quality but it's all I have to work with. Any thoughts?
Once your happy with the product, start flushing away , even canna recommend it for 1-2 weeks, forget the nah sayers saying it doesn't do anything cos they don't know what they are talking about..plain and simple, if anyone wants to start up a debate on it, go right ahead and be prepared to be put into your place.
https://www.rollitup.org/t/day-41-when-to-start-14-day-flush.1029960/Oh I'm sorry I must be wrong lol. But Regardless of the flush or not, your marijuana will be pretty much be what it is, by how you took care of it during it's life, from the food and light it receives and all the rest of the mumbo jumbo.. BUT in the end, I use certain stress...I defoliate end of flower which works yet so many say it doesn't. I stop feeding so the plant uses up all its reserves and focuses on packing weight and not focusing on uptaking nutrients it doesn't even need, just a waste of energy and Landi da di . I dim my lights also ...I reduce the light hours..I give em cold weather and ice water, I give it 48 hours of darkness, amongst other things as well. and perhaps it doesn't work for you but it certainly does for me by seeing the results for myself over the years of trying and testing shit out and not just believing what I hear or read from others, allot don't even know what they are talking about. But that just comes back to the saying what works for me perhaps doesn't work for them, perhaps some are growing weed that should be flushed down the toilet, But each to their own ..do what works for you that's all that really matters not what others believe or say, find out yourself. I could go on about growing for days but I don't have the time on here.
Don't feel bad, pre-industrial crop farmers done better than that, as did ancient civilisations. Most of the 19th century was lost to a false sense of science.
The egg shells thing is real as egg shells break down and provide calcium.Just stumbled across a reddit post with a bro suggesting to "wash" your plants. I don't even know what that means.
Same bro also suggests top dressing with veggie scraps and egg shells.
What’s next a shitty time?
I'd be happy to try sativas like that though. Not really broScience, but is definitely bull shit.

Im an old man. So i had no internet back when i did this. Nor did I know any other growers. So go easy on me. I pulled plants roots and all. Hung upside down thinking the thc would run from the roots to the buds. Then sprayed sugar water on the buds, let dry, then wrap the entire plant in butchers paper. LolAfter noting the influx of crazy ideas to push cannabis grows , i wanted to start a thread to have everyone post the most widely spread myths / methods you have to share.
No matter how ridiculous. Let’s finally get to the bottom of those old hippie ways / internet bullshit / friends told me / unicorn tears kind of misinformation . Should be fun.
Lets do this .
