Anyway buck I infer when you say should ""we" allow what you consider a "racist" law" stand you mean the federal government.
So how would that play out if applied to all local government laws like what if we all decided OMMP garden regs were construed that way?

by simply bringing up this topic, i have tended to take more notice to sagging in everyday life, references to sagging, and the like over the last few days.

i have noticed no references towards "sagging" being a white person thing. it can be, but it is clearly viewed societally as a black person thing.
no, my point in this thread was that the person of this town should stand up against this racist law. i made this thread because another member who i accused of being racist may have lived there at the time this happened.
the federal government has its place though. i certainly hope that we both agree that federal intervention into the practices of racist business owners in certain states was a good idea (i am referring to title II of civil rights for the record).
what say you? do you agree that it was a good idea for the federal government to mandate that private business owners whose businesses were 'open to the public' serve the entire public? i'm talking hotels, gas stations, restaurants, and the like. do you agree that it was a good idea for the federal government to end racist practices that states were refusing to end on their own?

such heavy handed federal intervention would be colorblind.
if the federal government were to step in on every single little racially targeted law that a backwoods town in the south put into law, they would exhaust their resources fairly quickly. there are many towns who have also enacted this racially targeted law.
i would be all for the force of law to exist anyway, but the point is that the people shouldn't turn a blind eye to this type of thing.
if they were to pull such obvious shit where i live, the backlash would be immense and immediate. this is a public shaming of these backwards southern towns who still try to get away with this obvious shit in this day and age.

Don't really have a dog in this race, and don't really give a fuck, but I just wanted to point out that I've been to a town that had a population of 0, ZERO, blacks, and had a ban on sagging pants. It was 100% directed at white kids. It started with store owners kicking them out of their stores, then it eventually became a city wide ban. Personally, I've never understood the fascination with people wanting to sag their pants. As long as someone's ass is covered, you can't really be offended and I think it looks dumb as hell and personally, I don't want to see it and I would probably be one of those store owners that had a sign that said "pull up your damn pants before you pull open the door" I feel someone has a right to establish a dress code in their own business, but I don't think I'd go as far as to support a law banning it.
Also, where I'm from, growing up, in the 80's and 90's, it was always the weird(white)skater kids with their anarchy signs and dirty hair, that sagged their pants. Probably saw a thousand to 1, white to black like that. Either way, I think it's stupid, trying to put off an image, but I guess if I had to say one was better, I'd rather see the black kids, that are at least clean than the emo rich white kids that have everything someone could want, and try to play off like they got problems, but either way, I can't see why anyone would want to emulate a behavior that is basically prison lingo for saying you're available to take it up the ass.

in the 90s when the whole baggy pants thing started, i was a skateboarder, and would often wear sized 50 fuct jeans, which obviously were to large for my at the time sized 30 waist, so obviously, my boxers would be showing, if i wore a short enough shirt, which of course i never did..
lots of skater kids used to skate around philly shirtless, i being a bit modest, and not wanting to show off my awesomely ripped body, would keep mine on... these were white, suburban kids mind you, mostly..
my 16 year old nephew, who also happens to be a white, suburban kid, also tends to wear his pants low even today.. he usually wears a pair of shorts under his jogging pants so you don't really see his boxers, but rather his shorts.. about 90% of his friends, who also happen to be, umm, white suburban kids, also wear their pants in the same fashion.
not sure if you don't get out much buck, but to think that it's only black people who wear their pants low, and enable us, the public to see their asses, is insane.. really, do you not have white suburban kids in oregon?

so what did motivate this law? Do you really see ass all day , or are you looking at different colored boxers? I have a very flat ass, hank hill style, what would I do? I think its a inside attempt to boost the sales of a local suspender vendor.

you're right, most of the time you don't actually see ass, i was being facetious of course in that point, but idk what made them make this law..
i know in wildwood nj, a shore town, they also made a law just like this one, which to me is funny as you can walk around on the boardwalk all day in a bikini, but not with baggy pants..
the whole point is though that baggy pants are way more common today in all races of people.. it's kind of hip to wear them in this fashion, i didn't make this up, go to a mall like i said.. it's more then a gangster thing, and more of a teen ager thing, regardless of skin color..

But it's beginnings started in the hood, hell here in Cali, I've noticed it's starting to phase out.
