My plants always get taken down with full EC 2.0 - 2.4
the taste is the exact same if i were to starve them for weeks and harvest them with EC of 0.2 tap water

how on earth you are able to taste or suggest you can taste the fertilizer in weed is beyond me
ultra sensitive taste buds perhaps or just being finicky :-P

I'm finding that some websites are saying whatever people want to hear, but in all actuality, buds are taking 2-3 weeks longer than what has been stated online. A good rule of thumb is to wait for the plant to "turn the corner" or make the switch into completion. If you wait, one day, you will KNOW that it is time.

quite often you will hear some noob review some weed he PAID for, said noob will state some kind of variation of the quote below

I have fed and not fed. I have flushed and not flushed. Hydro. Dirt. Organic. Soiless. Allowing the plant to properly cure is really all that is needed to produce fine, smooth, sweet delicious smoke. And genetics! During flower, I've feed Ample (N), while seriously boosting (P) and (K), all the way until about ten days out. The nitrogen is necessary for healthy chlorophyll operation, which is in turn what fuels Photosynthesis, which in turn allows more nutrient uptake to be possible . I run under the tap for 5-10 mins when time to flush and then i start letting the plants work overtime before harvest. i have no chemical/leaf taste issues. I generally don't have too many yellow leaves wither either. And I always have tasty :leaf: in my ZOB.

Actually most growers are probably great and varied in when they cut down. it all depends on what kind of end result you want. more heady(more cloudy) vs couch lock (amber/cloudy). After a while I myself don't even look at the trichromes anymore I just go by how the whole plant looks and is acting.
 
It's people getting involved in botany that don't care about botany that's so ironical. And I can spot a noob who doesn't know shit but poses as if it did a mile off. For example:

Damn..I was a away for a few days and I come back to all these posts. U all are killn me!! But thanks for all of the replies. I am on my first grow so I can't say who is right or wrong. There are interesting and valid arguments to a lot of these posts. My head is spinning.
I do have another question. When hanging up to dry do I need to put in a completely dark room like when flowering or can they be in a room with super low light? Probably a stupid question I know.

Not a stupid question... The darker the better, in theory/as i understand it.
Your crop will be fine in low light... especially if you leave some leaves on the buds to act as a protecting sheath.
Pretty sure people have been drying plants under the sun for a looong time.
The info that floats around is that you want it dark because thc degrades in light.. true? I'm not really sure. But I go for darkness if I can. Temp and humidity are prbly more important.

I'm sure UB or another can give you a better answer..
 
In my opinion the thc does degrade after sittin in the sun/light that replicates the sun, the only reason I say this is because I dried and cured some medicine once near my lights due to lack of space at the time and the quality was so much worse than when I dry and cure in dark.

Yeah space is my problem right now. Its dark enough to where you couldn't read but not pitch black. Thanx for the reply.

If I can just put my two cents in. I'm kinda late with this post. Regarding flushing, my great great-grandfather, my great-grandfather, and my grandfather grew tobacco as one of their cash crops. I asked my grandfather if they ever "flushed" their plants. He didn't know what I was talking about, so I explained it to him. His response was "why would you do that? You water them the entire time." I explained to him that it made the tobacco taste better because it flushed out all the nasty nutrients, so the tobacco tastes and burns better. He looked at me like I was retarded. He told me that he has never known anyone to do that. I understand that tobacco and cannabis are two different things, but I assume they are similar enough that if tobacco doesn't need to be flushed, then neither does cannabis.

It's cannabis, not crawfish. The only "flush" I do is when I uproot an entire plant that is going to take a while to clip. I set it in a bucket with some air stones and a tiny bit of Microbe Brew. It's a "flush" by default, not as a rule. Besides, I flushed a few of my plants before, after a mix up with fertilizers, and I was horrified at what I saw the next day. The plants that were flushed were obviously stressed and their growth was slowed compared to the ones that weren't flushed. Leaves began to yellow and they curled up.

Your grandfather is right, it is a silly practice and he probably thought you were retarded thinking a plant is like a car's radiator. Good that you got the skinny from someone who knows what he's talking about. Having said that if your able to ask your grandfather a question ask him if they ever practiced the late application of saltpeter, supposedly done to tobacco to enhance the burn. I assume that was an additive to the final smoking mix.
