Mold on cheese, for example, can go .5-1" past what you can see. I wouldn't make anything with them that didn't involve very strong alcohol to kill the mold, like green dragon or iso hash.
MrBlanco,
A couple of months back I had about a 1/4 oz of already dried and cured weed in a jar that I thought was a little too dry. I put a piece of wet paper towel in with it to try and get
some moisture back into it. Trouble was I'd forgot about it and by the time I checked it again about a week later it had gotten way to moldy to even think about smoking.
Not wanting to waste it I sauteed it in 2/3 of a cup of vegetable oil for 20 minutes and used the oil to make a batch of brownies. I didn't notice any adverse effect to the taste of the brownies and they didn't cause me any illness.
I'm pretty sure cooking it in 300 degree oil gets rid of any problems that any mold on it could cause a person.
But then on the other hand I might be an exception to the rule. Being as my "heart is pure" I usually have the strength and stamina of any 10 normal men. And normally my immune system can handle anything up to the size of a small rabbit and keep me from suffering any ill effects.
