Last week Florida signed into law the CS/HB 173 bill-
They changed the law here and if the laws where you live were the same, you'd have some serious concerns, bad enough your looking at a year or so with 27 plants.
The law used to be 300 plants and it's trafficing, and up to a 15 year sentence. Now it's 25 plants that's a second-degree felony, which would be punishable by up to 15 years in prison
Even worse, (similar to your situation) In addition, if a child was living in the home, it's a third degree felony on top of the trafficing 2nd degree felony, for having a child living where 25 plants are growing can now land you up to 30 years in prison.
Needless to say, even though like you, I also have never sold anything I grew for my personal medicinal needs, I decided this CS/HB 173 bill making 25 plants are trafficking charge, and up to 15 years is some sort of sick joke. Murderers don't face that kind of time. So I'm moving out of State. Maybe Vermont.
I really am sad to see your plight, that Larry guy in your neighborhood is a real putz, even more so if he turned you in. The police chief in that video had me shaking my head, if I had to guess, the police chief is probably kin with Larry, some of the things he said we're as ridiculous as Larry's nonsensical banter.
firebrand18rjr, Perhaps a good lawyer can find a technicality or maybe a lesser sentence. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope for the best for you.
