Well I kept it, and today it all turned into healthy white myc growth, and is the most colonized out of any of mine. Glad I didn't toss it
So happy, can't wait until they're ready to be birthed

I got mine from a local farm store, but they have it at Wal-Mart and Lowe's as well.

This jar is the furthest along. It's at least 75% colonized. It's hard to tell from the pic, but the center of the jar is a solid mass of myc, and every rye piece has a touch of white on it.
I've just made 4 LCs for some portobellos I'm going to try. I'm going to put some portobello inside-flesh into the LCs and then inoculate some rye with them when they grow. I'll use that in a monotub with some compost/manure mix, cased with sphagnum peat moss. Any suggestions on this method?

The strain I am doing next is also going to be Alcabenzi! I am going to do Zombie tubs with a coir/spent coffee grounds sub, on some grain inoculated with a Karo LC (that's the plan at least, might nock up a few normal grain jars too if I'm too impatient with the LC) My casing layer is also going to have crushed oyster shells in it, with hydrated lime. I'm hoping this plan will unfold better than my past methods! Also, I have 4 Albino A+ jars in my incubator, and 3 cakes in my FC, too bad none have pinned yet, wonder why. Can't wait to ditch this ole' FC and switch to monotubs and dubtubs.
What substrate are you using? I have found that this tek :http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/9289857 works very very well for mono tubs.
