Is there any instantly available cal mag teas that can be made?
Im just being a smart ass. Now why do you want a tea?? Are you in ammended soil. Store bought?? A bit of background may help in finding what your looking for. I will note that majority of calcium and or magnesium problems are from a bad ration of ca to mg. Which will look oit mg. Should be double ca> mg.

That's my #tipoftheday. I didn't know that I'm actually in pro mix with lightly ammended soil, vermiculite, left over castins and extra blood and bone I had around nothing to in depth, looking to do a subcool batch next time plants go in. I'm using FF atm at 1\2 ratios when plants look like they need it.

Ok. Subcool method works. But so do many strsngew styles of growing. What i dont like is this theory that the roots get to the super soil at bottum when the need more nutrition. Healthy plants will conplelty fill pots within a few weeks if not less. So logically this theory of richer soil for later in cycle doesnt make any sense. A good ammended living soil is where its at. Lots of castings.
But do what you can. I have some very good water only recipes which really kick ass. Lb per 600 watts easy. Of the darkest smoke. Check my journals. Will be updating will new recipes and methods within a few weeks.

But getting away from bottled nutrients is the first step and i hope everything continue s towards fully organic for ya. Pm mr anytime for questions or concerns. Good luck friend!!

Or potency. There is this misconception that yoi cant get top shelf meds. Strength wise. Taste. And allowing for full genetic potential with organics. Untrue. I did have smaller yields early on in my organic switch. But youll get dialed in. Just havested 64 oz of 3 600 watt blockbusters. I had 12 plants per light though. But these yields were unbelievable. And again i get 25-50$ more per zip than my competitors. ;)) cant beat that.

Please look at my thread here

Or my journals

good home made ewc, epsom.salt, molasses kelp has everything in it literally. What's the ppm of you city or tap water. You need to get rid of distilled water it does nothing for you at all
Yeah i wqs gunna add this point. Even a simple sediment/ carbon filter would br a better bet than distilled.

If you want homemade calcium you can dissolve eggshells in vinegar and let it ferment. You can also use gypsum which is calcium sulfate, dissolve in water and water in.

For magnesium I would use brown rice flour, brown rice, or oats fermented in water. The fermentation helps make the minerals available.

And then you can't do wrong with some worm poo on top.

I've got ridiculously hard well water, it seemed to seriously mess my plants up when I decided to try it last grow and I switched back to distilled pretty fast..
I do too, my well water is very hard, but I use it still.
Maybe go half r.o.
I've used well water at three different houses, and they all work well.
To answer you question, langbeinite, Epsom salts, or even a comfrey tea will have water soluble cal/mag in them, as well as BSM.
I agree though.. distilled isn't ideal...
I use dry meals for my calcium and magnesium
comfrey, egg shells, oyster meal, crab shell, neem meal, langbeinite, etc.
Be VERY sure that it is indeed a deficiency, usually cal/mag defs are misdiagnosed.

I also read that too much mg can lead to tight soil, too much ca the opposite?

1 gram of epsom salt per gallon of water. use warm water to dissolve it better.

also molasses 1 tbsp per gallon

otherwise a good dose of cal and silica is food grade diotamaceous earth. it is time releasing but great to work with.

asfar as cal mag in tea form? good general earth worm castings tea with molasses. molasses will be food source and also cal mag source. get things right in root zone with bennies and nitrogen fixing etc and cal mag wil become available

I don't think so, but I could be wrong, in my eyes, the only thing that connects to that is your actual physical soil mix, more specifically if you are using peat...
But that's why I like to use water retaining aeration, keep the soil tension from being a problem.
I also like to keep the soil rather "fluffy" when I transplant... One of my primary complaints about ROLS

Youve been nothing but helpful with me, I couldn't find where I initially read that excess mg makes compact soil but they have a small read here. Its under the magnesium section.

(Im not contradicting you, just trying to learn and curious what you think about this paragraph on magnesium. Thanks buddy.)

Hey anytime anyone can show me that I am wrong and i'm the happiest guy out there man.
No ego here.
I'm here to help others and to learn a lil myself, in my mind, that's EXACTLY what an intelligent forum is for.
That's precisely why I prefaced my last post with "i could be wrong"
