Losses in my area are in the billions. One of the largest financial loss fires in the state. More erupt on the daily. Resources are thin and tired. Still have months left to go in this years fire season. The local economy here is upside down. Housing and jobs are crazy. Property values have doubled while you're lucky to be able to find insurance. This is a problem that will need to be addressed on a large scale. Going to be interesting to watch.

I hear China will buy it up in 20 yrs (at fire sale prices) and repurpose pipelines for water. Hey, they got to eat.

I wonder what the pressure strength would be necessary to create a siphon from the Mississippi Flood Plane and using gravitational force to help it along.

Since wildfires have been an annual event for a long time before global climate warming change, I fail to see how such a flawed theory could be a cause.

Like with the Kempen over here, or the moorlands in Scotland, it's summer, it's dry as hell, things burn with or without human intervention as they have done since before humans were invented.

The only difference now is that we have so many media companies all sending countless numbers of people out to any and every normal event and exaggerating things to get the most hype and headlines, and therefore viewers, these things get reported more than they used to, the news coverage is incredibly higher than a couple of decades back, it only seems like things are worse thanks to the media stirring any pot they can at the expense of reality

13 of californias biggest 20 fires have happened after year 2000.


Combining the data sets from NOAA and NASA finds:

  • The five warmest years in the global record have all come in the 2010s
  • The 10 warmest years on record have all come since 1998
  • The 20 warmest years on record have all come since 1995

ever increasing dryness and warmth have NO EFFECT or relation to ever increasing fires, neither their size nor frequency would be effected by more dryness and more warmth

You also do know that the data you refer to has been shown to be fiddled with and fabricated, don't you?

Yes, the temp and CO2 trends are reliable, whether it is modern day data or data covering thousands of years via the likes of the Vostok ice cores, the rise in CO2 LAGS behind the rise in temperature. You can find that data yourself very easily, every single graph is online for you to see for yourself.

I suggest you do look at such things, especially the modern day NASA data which confirms the same, and explain why CO2 drives temperatures when the rise in CO2 lags behind the rise in temperatures.

They came out with an excuse for why that is with the ice cores, but still haven't done so for the NASA satellite data.

And there's more than enough evidence of figures being fiddled, omitted and downright fabricated (they call it "extrapolation", but the reality is that it's still no more realistic than pulling a number out of my arse).

It's one of the biggest scams in human history, with the gullible falling for it hook, line and sinker,.yet these are the same people who have the nerve to tell people like me to open my eyes and stop believing everything a politician says.

And that's fucking amusing, when you think about it.
