sorry to spam hire. But Fuck no, were is my tread
What's now ? i didn't make any adverts !! fucker....
As others have mentioned at the price you cannot go wrong, having played around with the smaller citizen chips and now working my way up to the bigger ones I can vouch that they are a very good chips indeed and seriously underated... The thermal resistance of the Citizen COBs are extremely low due to the fact that they package on aluminium...they have the patent for this design so Cree and the others cannot package in such a manner nor beat Citizen for thermal efficiency, pretty certain they also employ thin film flip chip technology in their products, so they are definitely on the cutting edge and dare I say slightly ahead of Cree....I am going to order 10 x CLU046 of all three colours and a couple of samples of the C7A in 2700k to have a play with. I just wanted opinions one way or the other. For the prices I don't think I can go wrong. My little collective seems to be growing and the need for cost effective COBs is more of an issue now.
Cheers,
Will
nice story...any way to back up this, with numbers...The thermal resistance of the Citizen COBs are extremely low due to the fact that they package on aluminium...they have the patent for this design so Cree and the others cannot package in such a manner nor beat Citizen for thermal efficiency, pretty certain they also employ thin film flip chip technology in their products, so they are definitely on the cutting edge and dare I say slightly ahead of Cree....
I'd venture to bet that someone that's advertising and is generally disliked is reporting you and complaining like a little girl!!!so What's wrong is with say true about light and share knowledge? Or hire is somebody who try stop the progress, and trying to tell every body that earth is flat and only he knows everything ...
I'd bet money on it.I'd venture to bet that someone that's advertising and is generally disliked is reporting you and complaining like a little girl!!!
I think Bridgelux has the lowest non-flip chip thermal resistance I've seen. I don't see Cree's in there, but I don't think it's particularly impressive...did I miss it?Go here to datasheet below thermal resistance figure for package is in section 1.2
http://ce.citizen.co.jp/lighting_led/dl_data/datasheet/en/COB_5/CLU048-1212C4_P3708_0516.pdf
Now go to Crees datasheet...Tell me what you see?

Where is Cree's listed? I've asked you this before I think, but Supra was saying Tj 85 = Tc 55 at 1.9A to explain the discrepancy between PCT and data sheets:vero18 old version.. the LES Aera is nearly the same... 18mm for the vero, 22mm for the citizen. the greater LES of the citizen does not help here...
and Cree is not way behind this numbers from Brdgelux.

at this time there is no Cob that beats Cree or Brigdelux in this field....
30C rise at ~68W is awful. If so, another way to put it the PCT is based on Tc rather than Tj. You can see from the PDF that at 1.9A a Tc of 55C = Tj of 85C
Sorry, lot of replies, but he wasn't advertising anything. I agree with you otherwise. They deleted his first thread because he mentioned his company, so the second thread was 100% DIY focused with no company name mentioned. Just good information and interesting discussion, I mean before Sativied showed upI think extortion would imply a lack of choice. Lets face it rxr2 is going to bring his product to market. He is most probably going to do extremely well with it. How can Rollitup continue to generate revenue from advertisers if they do not respond to what is perceived by them at least to be free advertising. I have seen countless schills post here and get immediately slammed by members for blatant and underhanded marketing tactics. rxr2 is different because he has actually shown us something we like and has credentials to back his findings. Regardless of intentions it is the perception that counts. I do not think rxr2 will give his product away. I think it is unfair to ask Rollitup to do so.
Rxr2 please do not think I do not appreciate your posts. They have been rewarding to read and I hope you continue to contribute. I just think a start up company should have room in their budget for advertising. You have attracted a lot of attention to your designs and as an advertiser you would have the ability to continue to expand this interest and generate sales.
We all get to play on the swings here but this is somebody else's playground and they pay to keep the lights on.
For what it's worth,
Will
The fact is though he is operating a business. A quick glance at the company website and it is easy to see they are a startup company with some financial backing.Sorry, lot of replies, but he wasn't advertising anything. @rxr2 do you even sell your lights outside of Poland? If you do, definitely advertise.
For me the question then becomes if I start a thread about Spectrolight, and he participates, does he have to pay RIU? It's so weird. Anyway, I'll stop posting now.
With regards to Bridgelux fair point...although not wholly buying it, tell me out of curiosity what material is their substrate made out of same goes for Cree?vero18 old version.. the LES Aera is nearly the same... 18mm for the vero, 22mm for the citizen. the greater LES of the citizen does not help here...

Not really looked too hard at Bridgelux stuff,,,but you hit the nail on the head with regards to Cree not posting their data, because a good chunk of this game is about bragging rights and I am pretty sure if Cree had anything to boast about in this department they would be shouting about it from the rooftops...I think Bridgelux has the lowest non-flip chip thermal resistance I've seen. I don't see Cree's in there, but I don't think it's particularly impressive...did I miss it?
