okay guys i bought a meter that test the ph in the soil....yes...yes..you guuys where right ph in the soil was way to high it was at a high 8...now i also bought something that lowers the ph in the soil(Espoma organic soil acidifier) i hope this helps...so i put this on my girls now when i test the soil i put the meter near the stem i get 7.0 then when i move it father apart it goes to 7.5 i just add this, this mornig you guys think i can add more of this in the evening to get that .5 down...what's the deal when i move the meter...also how can check if i have root rot i think my girls might have that problem...
hey yea so basically what you did was you bought a buffer. the reason its giving you different readings at different depths/locations, is becuase its not mixed in well. Other then mixing it by hand with the soil before you plant in it, really the only other way to mix it around is to water, and give it time. Granted, you have a plant in there so you shouldnt over water.
And yea, give it time, dont flood it with the buffer. test it every day, and see if your getting closer to where ya wanna be, but you dont have to go from 8 to 6.5 in one day. let it be gradual so theres less shock
And someone posted water pH doesnt mean shit, its all about the soil pH, well yea kinda. once the soil is at 6.5, you dont worry about it much anymore. Really, it should have been 6.5 at the start, and then the only way pH would be off, is from the nutrients added in. either way, the roots grow in wet soil, being thorough is best.
