Can you describe the smell?

I'm facing the same thing as you. It's illegal to grow w/o med card. What about where you are?
I have been imprisoned for this in the past. Jail isn't an option for me again. So, i don't grow.
I doubt that I would even if i had a med card because of social stigma and thievery. You sound
pretty 'noid about this, so maybe you should just save your seeds until your region legalizes it.
Speaking of seeds, in usa, i've heard, due to the fact that seeds are like below 2% THC, that the
DEA et al won't arrest because it's not considered enough THC. In other words, as I think I have
understood it, you can buy/sell/mail seeds w/o legal problems. But do not take my advice on it. I'm no lawyer.
Maybe weeds not for you.
I fought the good fight. Protests, rallies. When you do something that isn't legal you must come to terms the possible outcomes of your actions and if you aren't comfortable with those then don't do it. Living life afraid is sad and depressing. It's only illegal if you get caught. So don't get caught and do what you want to as long you aren't hurting anyone else then who gives a fuck.

The minimum needed is a timer, tent, light, exhaust fan, filter and a oscillating fan for airflow. I recommend a 2 x 4 tent for a smallgrow. I have a 3 x 3 and wish it was a 2 x 4. One of the non obvious reasons is when you go to clean it you have to disassemble a 3 x 3 [it won't fit through a standard doorway]. A 2 x 4 will fit through a doorway fully assembled. Don't skimp on the light. I personally would use 2 viparspectra XS 1500 pro's in a 2 x 4. Get a filter and you won't have to worry about the smell, and there will be a smell. You need airflow to keep the temperature down and to supply fresh air, a 4" exhaust fan should suffice. The plants like a gentle breeze hence the oscillating fan, also helps keep mold away. Hydro, soil or coco is up to you. Bottom line with a inside tent grow you control the process and no one need ever know. A decent set-up would run about 600 dollars for a 2 x 4 and about 400 for a 2 x 2. Or you can grow them on the balcony and hope the prevailing breezes keep the neighbors guessing where the smell is coming from.

Based on your recommendations, thinking that 5 plants would smell too much, I decided to make 3 or 2 plants. 1x Northens Light 1x Jack Herer 1x Critical + 2.0

Critical smelled of citrus. It didn't have a very strong odor, and the others were genetics that smelled low anyway. I will consider a different scenario if the scent gets really too intense. There is no need for such stress for a few autoflower plants that I will grow on my balcony, I will choose the courage and continue on my way.
