Can you guys give me some feedback on my bud?

Honestly I'd say those buds should have be cut down I to the individual buds and properly trimmed. They look nice all big like that, but that's not a good way to dry them tbh. Next trim cut them down to size and trim them the rest of the way...
Why wouldn't you keep large beautiful buds intact while drying and curing?

Hey guys, why is it when the bud dries out it looks like whispy crap... very disappointed with it to be honest. It's curing now, will smoke it in 4-6 weeks and report back.

Anyway, I've decided to make sure I'm using the best light possible, I've just ordered 2 x HLG 550 V2's. Yeah baby!
I like my HLG lights but I would say they could of gone a week or two longer before chop.
Maybe its just because they are autos , but they look like they haven't filled out to me.

Thanks, will do next time.

I actually left these a bit too late, all the tri's were cloudy.
They should be cloudy, its when they are all amber that its gone too far. Depends on preference really though.
But trichs can be misleading, they can change way early for various reasons.

I always look for the swell and hair recession before I think about the trichs. Personally I like all cloudy with 20 percent amber but if that happens before they have swollen then I get what im given because im not sacrificing a huge chunk of weight or bag appeal.

All that said, could just be the strain you had. Some look huge but density isn't always there.

These were autos my friend gave me, to be honest, wasn't happy with them at all. The next grow will be classic Northern Lights from Sensi seeds. I'll take your advice and look for all cloudy with 20% amber. I'm looking for a couch lock heavy stone for relaxing late at night after a hard days work.

Hey Guys,

Can you give me some feedback on my 1st grow? This was the last plant I chopped. The cola's were huge, the size of my forearm and the bud seems to be quite dense as well. It all seems pretty good.

I was actually going to drop my 2 x Spectrum King SK400+ and replace with 4 x 320W XL QB V2s from HLG. I have OCD about growing and want the best possible setup. Do you think I'd get much better doing this?

Thanks,
JF.
That is some beautiful buds, also you look like joel osteen

The smoke report is what matters. People only insist on tight nuggets to justify the cost of energy intensive indoor grows utilizing air conditioning and artificial lighting. It's fucking ass backwards to buy tight nuggets and then throw them in a grinder to loosen them up before being smoked. The plant knows what it is doing, if it needs to fluff up and breathe, let it breathe.
Dense buds typically are a result of proper lighting and generally growing skills, if you have large dense buds theyre almost always better than fluffy weed of the same weight unless youre comparing sativa to indica

Unless you can cite your claims I'll have a hard time believing artificial lights and nutrients can out perform the Sun and a rich, live soil. Skill should be applied to breeding and care instead of trying to fight and replicate nature at a premium cost to both growers and consumers.

Plants adapt but prefer a specific environment and the closer you can replicate that the better, outdoor plants do out preform indoors but you get one season a year and you have to worry about bugs and weather. Indoors you can control everything and have a perpetual grow season

Supplemental lighting can be added to manipulate your season(s) and a greenhouse can be utilized to to take even further control. I honestly believe that the plant is only grown indoors to evade law enforcement. Given the option between utilizing the sun vs growing on the DL, I would chose that great big ball of free life giving energy any day.

You were absolutely correct my friend. I left them in a 60% RH room for 7 days and they dried well, however, when I pulled the buds off to put them in curing jars there was mold...

I guess you live and learn.

I guess I might order some of those hanging nets, so if I end up with large colas again, i can pull of the individual buds and dry them in the nets.

If youre supplementing lighting and you have to heat your space this is no longer considered outdoors, that would be like saying im growing outdoors with a box with drywall lighting and heating around them

That's what I do, put them in a large hanging net bags you can get on Amazon. I also don't leave large stems on my buds when drying but that is personal preference. I find it takes longer to dry with large stems and doesn't add enough to the curing process to justify the enhanced risk of mold with larger buds. Shitty luck about the mold, hopefully you still have bud you can smoke. Sweet setup too, good luck next round.

Big buds are fun,
Just keeping them at 60% isn’t enough
You need a breeze, there must be air Movement, if not you’ll get mold .
But it is easier to brake them down .

Just my opinion but I keep my buds intact. As long as you have a little air flow, low temps, and low humidity you'll have no worries. 68 Degrees and 60-70% humidity is good for a nice slow cure. I got a bunch of Sensi gear I'll be trying out in the next few months. I really want to see how it measures up to their stuff from the 90's. I got some Sensi black Domina in Amsterdam and It's a nice indica but not as potent as I would have liked. If you're looking for an end of day smoke though try Rolex OG Kush from Devil's Harvest. It's a great day ender and reasonably priced. 20 Euro on their website and 40 anywhere else.
