I was just released from the Canadian Forces for 2 positive THC screens over 1 year apart. It was an honorable discharge believe it or not, "F5 release = Not suitable for further service at this time" Me and my 10 other friends who I witnessed released before me where told by our release clerk that we could reapply after 1 year of being out.. Needless to say it has been 1 month since my release date and I am FAR from considering re-joining.. I served 4 years in the 1st Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment, an infantry battalion located in Petawawa Ontario. Long story short, I have an injury related to training, which is fully documented by the Military MO at the time. My injury is a herniated disk on my L4, a serious spinal cord injury..
I have been on medication for over 7 months now which is also documented, Not that I take it, I self medicate.. As of early this month my "military medical coverage was ended" I am in the process of re-applying for my Canadian Health insurance card as it expired and I was living in another province at the time with full coverage.
What I want to know, is once i have my Health Insurance Card in hand and I print the applications and fill them out to the best of my ability, Is it possible to bring said applications with the proof of injury from my military service to a GP and request a signature? Would it be unheard of to do? or is said action okay !? I will smoke 1 to ponder my situation
