Up into the late 80s the doors were never locked. Until one time when my brother came home late, there was a guy stark naked with his head in the garbage can, passed out and oblivious to his surroundings when awakened. Apparently his buddies pranked him, as they convinced him that he was home. We all got house keys after that. We never thought to blame the PM of the day for the invasion.

The evening news hasn't been watched in our house since the 90s during shock and awe in the George W days. Dismembered bodies was glorified/normalized, but heaven forbid we see a nipple at a halftime show. In that same timeframe was the last when the Sun newspaper was looked at - striclly for the sunshine girl.

Homelessness is complicated. Mental health and drug addiction is in all facets of society. And I get how you can't lead a horse to water. IMHO compassion goes a long way vs judgement and saying they should just get a job. Pretty hard to get a job without a resume, credentials, a fixed address, a bank account, transportation, etc. Being kind costs less than incarceration everyday. Anger issues can be helped with counseling and proper medication if there's a will. There's a ton of trauma out there, often through no fault of their own. But it's everyone's responsibility to heal from it in whatever way they find meaningfull.

As a bit of an empath, I love everyone and listen to people's stories. Often sympathizing for what they've gone through, and hoping that they heal from the things that no one ever apologized for.

Here's a meme that I found fitting. I've voted orange, green, blue and red. It's my character that defines who I am, not how I vote.

The point I'm trying to convey is that the government doesn't have the right to go into my house and take my property that I legally obtained. I used fishing as an example because who knows maybe they'll join up with peta and decide were all criminals for going and catching some fish with the boys. They've already done it to the firearm industry without care of the businesses, clubs and individuals this would impact. So why not other things too. It would have been one thing if this was brought to parliament and voted on but they went about it in sneaky avenues and using fear as a tactic to gain traction on the subject.
I totally agree with you about trump. He's an idiot. But thats the hand we were dealt. A responsible government would have responded and figured out a solution rather than halting the house and calling an election and then the new pm who wasn't voted in by the people decides rather than dealing with it he will go to France and play around with his banking buddies. His little carbon tax order stunt where he signed an order 'repealing' the carbon tax.....i mean come on talk about taking a page outta Trump's books..... the prime minister doesn't even have the authority to sign orders in council only the governor general can so this stunt was purely performative just like trump. This isn't someone who cares about the well being of Canadians. How could trade with eu equal or even come close to the intricate trade between our borders. We don't even know what Trump wants for fucks sake. The liberals are keeping us in the dark and letting us suffer in the mean time, all while trying to scare people with this tarrif bullshit. This could have been all taken care of by now already if the liberals would lead instead of worrying about how the party is polling and if they will win and election or not so they can continue living extravagantly on the taxpayers dollars.
Of coarse there are far left and far right people in both parties. It's unfair to label the party as such because a few people think that way. I'm sure there's some liberals who believe the same thing too. What I'm saying is we can't let liberals continue their reign over Canada. It's costing us an insane amount of money and they don't seem to care, they don't mind tacking on billions of dollars into the deficit and taking it from you to pay the bills all while smiling in your face while they lie to you. Will pp be better? I think so. But I don't know either. I know that we need a change in the government. We need different ideas because the ones the liberals have are proven to not be working. I'm certainly never voting for old Jughead the guy can't even keep track of his own lies. Everything that guy says he goes back on. He's literally run that party into the ground and the dirty liberals keep tricking him and he keeps falling for it. Kinda like Charlie Brown kicking the football. It's pretty funny actually.
