I'm already providing the same things in those products with my base nutes. I don't need to use those products.

Big Bud is derived from magnesium phosphate, magnesium sulphate, potassium phosphate. Those elements already exist in more than adequate amounts in the nutrients I use.

PK 13/14 can be replaced with monopotassium phosphate if you want to increase those element levels.

I just don't understand how you can fall for all the marketing nonsense. You seem very intelligent. There is no need to spend money on unnecessary stuff when you know it's not needed.

And yes your right. Many of us have pictures of frosty nugs. Some of us don't use any unnecessary products to get them which was my point. Why do I need those products?

I prefer sticking with a well put together single part. It has everything a plant needs most are designed towards growing cannabis. A lot of ppl fall for the marketing of the bottle nutrients thinking it needs something special outside the realm of any other plant. I prefer keeping my environment on point and keep my nutrient simple and cost effective.

My last 2 grows combined (both about a lb) cost me about half of one bottle of dry nutes thar cost me 9 bucks. Plenty of goo an big nugs.
I used to have 10+ bottles for flower and 6+ for veg an spend a few hundred per cycle. Theres no point...
 
Another thing about these boosters and such. Most come from nutrient companies that purposely leave adequate amounts out of their base nutrients on purpose so they can sell you more bottles of stuff. I'd do the same thing if I was selling nutrients for profit. It's a great strategy. I was a Network Administrator at a marketing company in Portland years ago for about a year. I sat in on a couple meetings and heard the way they scheme to get more money out of the consumer. "Can we take that out, put it in another package, and sell it separately?"

Don't you miss measuring out 1.5 ml of this and 1.75 ml of that each week based off of some feeding chart?
 
People put way too much emphasis on nutrients... they try to turn it into algebra when it should be as simple as being able to say "1" it doesnt need to be hard.
Get a high quality nutrient, then use it as needed.. I use what people in my area use in professional greenhouses. Products are differant for differant areas, find out what the pros around you use.

Except I was mixing up 45 gallons at a time, and generally doing that 2 times per day every day, so it was like 60 ml of this. 60 ml of that. The base nutes was about a 8 oz glass full. It seemed normal at the time to goto the hydro shop and drop a couple grand. Running 7200 watts and only having a little left over after buying 30 bags of ffof and a shitload of nutrients...

Growers in Portland Oregon have been using VitaGrow in the Portland area for decades. It's just Calcium nitrate, monopotassium phosphate, and a micronutrient blend broken down into as many parts. It's been around in one form or the other since 1982. I don't know the exact origins but I heard rumors that it used to be called "Golden Grow" back in the day due to it's yellowish color when mixed up. Plus I can walk to the manufacturer in 15 minutes from my house. I'm sure some old time growers from the area know more about it than me.

But you are correct. A good balanced nutrient is all you need. Everything else is just fluff and a waste of money.

I did it as well but not on the scale you did. I felt like an idiot once I realized how much money I was spending when I didn't need to.
 
I like humic acid 3-6ml /10 liter
And seaweed extract 1-2ml/10 liter
I use PK for 2 weeks when they start swallow (day 30-45)
 
Right now running LED's and environmental control, my cost to produce a pound is $60-$70. Including nutrients, ( not including labor) .
 
I kinda agree with most saying that a lot of nutes on the market are just rip-offs but one thing for sure products that contain pgr’s(hormones) do work according to many people in my area.

I've played with PGR's. In fact I still have a few things but I only got them for experimentation and curiosity.
