There are an untold number of accidents that occur as a result of mechanical problems that were caused by neglect of basic maintenance issues. And there are many more cases of massive and unnecessary repair costs for the same reason.

I keep my two vehicles serviced all the time..

- 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Crew-Cab.. which has the upgraded engine. Stock motor is the 5.3 V8 but I opted with the 6.0V8 )
- 1999 BMW E36 M3 Coupe.. which I also keep serviced. I pretty much don't have an option with the M3 though.. after all the modifications the car has had, if you don't keep it serviced.. not only will you run into problems, but it becomes expensive.. very quickly. It's got the stock 3.2 inline V6 with an aftermarket stage 2 turbo kit with aluminum inter-cooler and an upgraded B.O.P valve & purge valve; High-Flow Injectors; etc. Stock HP was around 225HP with 200LBS of torque.. after the turbo install, my HP went from 225HP up to 340HP with 300LBS of torque.. and let me tell ya, in that little car, 340HP and 300LBS of torque... is P L E NT Y of power. I mean, it will almost scare ya.. if your not use to it. Oh, and that's my HP/TRQ gains.. with running the turbo at only 9p.s.i. and I can up my boost all the way up to 12p.s.i... but I don't like to run it that hot.. because it puts a heavy strain on the motor/drivetrain. When I had the turbo installed at the local Dyno Shop.. they gave me my absolute MAX HP/TRQ readings.. running the boost at 13PSI (which they told me not to do, but wanted to show me the MAX HP/TRQ).. and those numbers were almost rediculus. At 13-psi... my max HP/TRQ was 406HP with 382LBS of torque. Now, again.. I will NEVER run my boost at that level because your just asking for problems, running it that high.. but its nice to know that its there. ;)

She's my weekend toy.. doesn't get driven hardly at all during the week. I start it and let it idle twice per week.. just to keep the internals lubricated. But other than that, its a weekend car only.

I bought a 'Tubi' muffler (its what helps give Ferrari that signature sound.. Ferrari lovers know what I'm talking about) and had it fabricated to fit my cars exhaust system. The sound is just freaking amazing.... if I could find another TUBI muffler thats affordable.. I'd buy another one and put it on my Silverado. I mean, Tubi exhaust/mufflers are famous for that signature F1 sound.. and I'll never switch back to any other exhaust. I will always run Tubi exhaust from now on. Especially after hearing it on my M3 E36.. man oh man. It's kinda quiet at idle.. but if you get above 3k R.P.M., it lets you know its there.

Anyhow, yeah.. its important to keep your vehicle serviced.

Electrical isn't that bad, especially once you have a decent idea of 12V systems. I had to completely rewire my da9 integra's main harness. It took me about 3 solid days fri-sun. It wasn't too bad. I had planned on tucking/shaving the bay anyway, I just had no idea of the issues that it had. It looked FUCKING SICK tucked and shaved though. I'm tucking/shaving the shit out of my next project.

I think I'm going to buy my STi, upgrade to a Perrin turbo and switch out the intercooler for a Perrin front mount. Probably throw some Tein coils on it with a set of Volk wheels on it. I haven't decided on which ones though. I'm stuck on a few pairs. It will either be the TE37-V's, VR-G10's, CE-28N's, or the CE-28N Competitions. Once that's done I'll probably redo the interior (not a huge fan of the blue interior, even though I love that car) all black with the seats in a microsuede.

In the middle of all that I'll be picking up a project car, I haven't decided what though. It's a toss up between a '91 240sx convertible (with the s14 front. Convertibles look fucking SICK with the s14 front end) or an Evo 8/9. I'm leaning towards the Evo because it's going to be much better on the track. I gave up trying to drift a long time ago when I wrecked my last 240 (well... it was kind of mine, it was my baby but it belonged to the performance shop I worked at). Another reason I'm leaning towards the Evo is because I debated for a long time whether I wanted the STi or the Evo as my main daily. I finally settled on the STi but I really like the Evo as well. I'd fucking love to have both and Evo 8/9 rolling shells with a motor that needs work can be had around me for $4000-5000.
 
Is there really such a crazy anti-import sentiment in the USA? I'm ust bored and watching a truck episode of the US top gear, and instead of the fall back option being genuinely humiliating or might result in them being shot, it's an import truck, and every few minutes they talk about how it would be such an embarrassment, a national shame etc, they even dropped the terrorist motive in there with the import angle. Looks like annice truck to me! :) Is it support of home brands, or just super patriotism? or just television? :p
 
am a astra owner an member of the astra owners club i pick up most parts if i need any off there for a decent price so thats not too bad then the service i do my self so pretty cheap in all an its lpg so only cost 79p a litre for gas also runs on petrol as well
 
I've got a 3 cylinder. Fantastic little bit of fun :) Wouldn't say no to a big honking rear wheel drive v6 or such, but for pissing around in the city and in the snow and such, little fwd 3 cylinder 1.2l, great fun :D
 
Depends how i drive ;) but if i fancy being sensible i an get about 40. I used to have a nice 1.9l VW golf that could get 60 but i pranged it.
 
i had a dude stop me at dennys, the other night just to tell me my HIDS were illegal and i could get a ticket.
for having them. then i asked if he knew if 3k HIDS are illigal if he knew by chance, he said he didnt know.
now my question is. 3k illegal and are 6k white spectrum HIDS really illegal.
taking in consideration some cars have 6k in stock lights. my car is not so old looking so there shouldn't be a problem right?
