Thanks guys, the JillyBean has really impressed me. Especially given that it was an experiment on defoliation. She has really responded well to it. Not saying I am now a proponent of defoliation though. At some point after harvest I will post some thoughts on defoliation for what they are worth, again won't be attempting to settle any debate about it. Really happy she didn't hermie other than that one banana I found about 3 weeks ago. Checked her today thoroughly and there were none that I saw.

Mohican, my Jilly pheno has a "lemonish" smell that is definitely citrusy and has a hint of sweet and a hint of spicy. It is hard to place exactly, but it is definitely a bit more pungent than most other plants. I think its quantity/potency of terpenes is very high. The Sugar Plum is the most sweet smelling and also has a ripe fruit smell that is hard to place but if I had to I would say ripe papya. SP isn't the strongest smoke (probably 12-15% THC) but it tastes great and has a great uplifting high without any paranoia. Those impressions are mostly from the cured smoke I already have, it is really hard to discern the different nuances of the terpenes with so many different strains in the tent. The Purple Diesel is earthy/funky with a hint of fuel smell. The Jack Herer I have is the "purple indica pheno" and has a similar smell to the PD but with more sweet and more spice but it is subtle. The CBD strains and crosses tend to have an earthy/funky smell or they just have a earthy bland smell. I havn't been overly impressed with the terpenes in the CBD plants, their purpose is medicinal and for me anyway get made into butter so not a big deal. I will say that the GDPxHarlequin I grew does have a great sweet fruit smell though and is one of my favorites.

I just got done taking some bud porn shots of every plant in the tent tonight. Also cleaned the plants up as well as the tent (they really needed it). Removed the watering system and trays as well. If I could bottle the smell of my hands right now I would be a very rich man lol...

Seeds are coming along nicely as well. The autos are kicking ass on that front and the K1 and K7 are sucking wind with the others somewhere in the middle.

I will post the bud porn of the 19 girls in the tent tomorrow or the next day.

Here are the pics I took 2 days ago. 19 plants total, it's hard to believe they all fit in a 5x5 tent. Most are doing pretty well, some have been neglected a bit but have pulled through just fine. The HH plants are still under performing but seem to be catching up some. The plants can't really be judged against each other fairly because the tent is so crowded, some are getting more light than others and I have been a bit lazy in rotating them since they have been in the trays with the water system. Today is day 55 of flower, pics taken on day 53.

I find the new RIU picture viewer annoying and sometimes agonizingly slow to load so excuse the huge pics, I just think it is a better option.

Hollands Hope (Dutch Passion) 2 plants
This plant did actually start to look more indica as flowering progressed, to my surprise
(as Dutch Passion advised it would) It is also the plant that grew into a CFL and fried the top completely, it has bounced back well and is probably my favorite HH of the 4.

This one is a bit of a runt, got less light but still should have done more imo. At least it didn't stretch much.

Hollands Hope (Nirvana) These are clones I got from a friend, the leaves are more indica but the buds do seem to be foxtailing a bit. (harder to judge them being completely seeded)

"K" 1 and 7 K7 is the tallest plant in the tent. These are both mostly Sativa (seeds that I traded for on vacation)

Sleestack x Skunk
This plant is putting on good sized buds but it is clearly at least a 10 week plant. Might put it under the CFLs where the males were to finish it, not sure yet.

A couple closer shots of the sleeskunk

Purple Diesel

Sugar Plum X (Jack the Ripper x Purple Urkle)

Sugar Plum Clone of the mom used for the above cross.

I have 3 high CBD plants in the tent. The SNS Widow was the most neglected plant in the tent. I pulled a ton of dead leaves out of it. Looks like it might have been short on water while I was on vacation, not sure. Still put some good buds on though. The Remedy and SourT #3 are pretty small, I think The Remedy is the better plant for future CBD grows.

Sweet and Sour Widow (CBD Crew)

The Remedy (clone only up to 17% CBD, .66% THC)

Sour Tsunami #3 (clone only up to 11% CBD, .34% THC)

Jack Herer Purple Indica Pheno

Jilly Bean (Defoliation experiment) I took about 20 more leaves off of it just to stick to the guidlines that I read for defoliation but it really doesn't look like it needs any more to me so I am done taking leaves off her. I do like the way her buds have developed on this grow.

Harlequin X Sweet and Sour Widow Really frosty, it is too late to take a clone of it but I am going to try my first attempt at revegging with her.

The Autos have all been seeded completely, guessing I will have at least 400 seeds total from them. The father for all of them is a feminized Amnesia Auto. I think the C+2 is my favorite of the autos, nice chunky buds on it. They have all done pretty well imo, especially considering that they were flowered under 12/12 for the most part.

Thanks bro, all those jig saw puzzles I did as a kid finally paid off lol. It is a challenge to get light to all of them. I actually managed to "stack" them back in so they are all getting decent direct light.

The PD is a great evening smoke, real knock you on your ass high. I really like the flavor too, it has a slightly sweet, noticeably spicy, funky skunk smell. Not as much fuel smell as most diesels.

Feels good to have a clean tent again! Here is a shot of the plants back in the tent (minus the fan and the tall sativa that went in last)

Lol, took me a minute to get the 12.88 reference... I get all my pots for free at a "pot exchange" (pun intended) at a local nursery. Just too lazy to peel the labels off.

On my last grow I didn't let the temps fluctuate much more than 15 degrees because I read somewhere that was best. This grow I didn't heat up the space at all during lights out (on the advice of Jointed and DCobeen I believe it was). Temps fluctuated between about 62 and 84 most of the grow. I think it has helped bring out the colors a little more. Other than that I get the feeling there are few "bottle necks" in the nutes I provide to them (accept the Sugar Plum, that girl will not stay green). The addition of Azomite this grow has made a noticeable difference imo (micro nutrients). I am a big believer in supersoil to deliver the majority of the nutrients with supplementation along the way. Thousand ways to skin a cat, I just like the simplicity and reliability. The holes I drilled in all the pots have delivered more air to the roots, I think that helped a bit.

The last couple nights the high temp reading has been at 90, not sure how long its staying up there though. The plants don't seem to mind it.

Canna, I "cheated" a little bit on the lighting. Early on I had 2 68 true watt CFLs in there as well as the 600. Later one of them burned out so I ran with one, and recently I removed it due to heat issues. So currently 600 watts...

The tall sativa K7 has a bad spider mite infestation. I actually saw some webbing on the top cola last night. No other plants have any mite damage on the leaves anywhere, I think they just like that plant. I removed it, trimmed many infested leaves and drenched it with habanero water. The buds on it aren't that developed and pretty airy so I don't think there will be a mold issue. Just growing that one for the seeds anyway... It is risky leaving it in there but pretty close to harvest anyway.

Yeah, good call on the temps not helping the bug issue. I will turn up the extraction fan a little higher tonight, I think it as at about 65% (up from 55%) and is a 435cfm. It gets pretty loud when cranked so I need to be careful.

I did thoroughly pick off the webbing and crushed many aphids with my fingers. Probably will be doing that every night just to be safe. Thankfully the RAs don't seem to be effecting the plants much even though I am still catching them on tape regularly. The flier population seems to have backed off a bit. Might put up a couple more sticky traps just to be safe, I appreciate the reminder bro. Really hope I will be able to eradicate the root aphids this summer!

Edit: Crushing mites not aphids with my fingers in the last post... looks like the edit function disappears pretty quick now.

Anyway, today is chopping day! It is day 60 or 8 1/2 weeks of flower time. The timing just works with drying through next week and doing some trimming next weekend. Some are done, some could use another week, and the sativas are nowhere close. Sleeskunk probably needs 2 weeks but hasn't been pollinated so dont want to risk finishing it in the males room. Everything will be chopped accept for the harlequin x snsw which I will attempt to reveg.

Just my luck, a friend texted me and needs to borrow my truck (she doesn't know I grow). Had to stop the "pre-trimming" process and button up the basement, all plants back in the tent. Opened all the windows, and sprayed potpourri air freshener everywhere. Hoping I can hand off the keys without her coming in the house. A long day of trimming just got longer... I am going to smoke a fat bowl and finish this job as soon as I am clear.

Trimmed up about 8 so far, a couple HH ladies did a little stealth bulking up when I "wasn't looking". There might be more potential in them than I thought. They have a funky way of forming their buds, maybe part of what makes them mold resistant idk. Taking some pics here and there...
