Hi tam, looking good mate.

I still reckon its the cold causing them to try and keep warm by dropping those leafs at night, do they gradually recover at all during the 'day'? I know they are well insulated but they look just like mine did when I first set up a loft grow without heating a few years back..... they still bud up OK though :-) This may sound stupid BUT I was wondering if sticking a hot water bottle in there with them at lights off would help at all? :-)

You can safely repot during flowering no problem at all, but again I don't think a 'root bound' pot is a problem at this stage, root development will have slowed right down now anyway. PLenty of good plants grown in small pots on here. I've seen plants after harvest where the roots are totally bound up and solid with no ill effect on bud development. Take a look at SICC's 'Party Cup' thread here in the CFL section for example, 16oz paper cup and just look at the health and vigour of that plant ....stunning!! DrBudGreenGenes also grows in McDonalds drink size cups and gets the most incredible results, and believe it or not he make 3/4 passes in the SAME CUP..... flower/reveg/reflower/reveg/reflower etc, 3 or 4 times and they NEVER come out of the original small cup of soil mix !!!! makes you see these things very differently tam.

Whatever you decide, good luck mate.

you ll have Much more luck with a n 'ENVIROLITE' 150/250 WATT CFL in my pic I am using one accompanied by 2x 90 watt UFO LED's these ENVIROLITE CFL's pack a real punch!!!!

THE ENVIROLITES REQUIRE NO BALLAST AS ITS BUILT INTO THE BULB, BUT THEY DO REQUIRE A BIGGER SCREW FIXING, AN E40... I THINK ITS CALLED?!! BUT THEY'RE AS CHEAP AS 8 QUID ON E-BAY, YOU'LL NEED A 150 WATT BLUE SPEC FOR VEG AND A 150/250 RED SPEC FOR FLOWERING, THEY LITERALLY SCREW IN AND YOUR READY TO GO!!! THEY'LL WORK 20 TIMES BETTER THAN ALL THOSE LITTLE CFL'S THEY HAVE AN EXACT PAR READING ..(CORRECT LIGHT AND INTENCITY FOR GROWING PLANTS) AND HAVE A GREATER LUMEN OUTPUT ALSO BECAUSE YOU ONLY HAVE THE ONE BUILT IN BALLAST ON EACH BULB,(ONLY ONE USED AT A TIME) THE HEAT SHOULD HOVER NICELY BETWEEN 22 AND 26 DEGREES C, MAKE SURE YOU SCREW THEM IN TIGHT (BY THE BALLAST, NOT LITE TUBES) I GUARENTEE YOU A SUPER GROW ..TRUST ME :)

ok i have decided to leave them in the same pots as i expect they are fine nd as you said MS the root growth will prob slow down now.

i have read a bit about lollipopping?

apparently it concentrates all the plant growth to the main colas instead of trying to grow the silly lil buds at the bottom.

the little lower buds on my plants are really not getting any light there are to many leaves in the way.

any way any help would be very much appreciated.

any of you guys had experience lollipopping?

hello again RIU, its been a week since i have updated and to be honest im feeling sorry for my girls:cry: it has been very very cold where i live and i think they are not enjoying it up in my loft so the are coming back down in the house today.

i think the bud growth has slowed right down and im to embarrased to post a pic of the whole plant as the look very unhappy. every leaf is curled right up. im definate it is the cold just like you said you experienced MatureSmoker.

i now have 12 days off work so im gonna make sure they are going to be warm this xmas:weed:.

Beautiful young girl. Even at this stage they are a wonderful looking plant.

But just think what she'll look like when she matures.

oh yeah sorry MatureSmoker i forgot to say that they do not pick up and stop being droopy whatsoever by the end of the day.

i really need to get a thermometer so that i can read the temps in the box from in the hallway.

anyway i just covered the box in even more loft insulation, im sure it cant be that cold in there.

i watered them last 7 days ago so that totally rules out them being overwatered, the two waterings before today i havnt added any bio bizz bio bloom, i just watered them aminute ago with a very weak mix of bio bloom.

im wondering if they need more N as the bio bloom is very low on that shall i use a stronger mix? as they have some yellowing on a few leaves.

please help RIU.

heres some pics

ONCE AGAIN I THINK THE ROOTS NEED TIME TO SETTLE... GIVE HER AN OTHER WEEK BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY DRASTIC CHANGES... KEEP SOIL DRY AND FEED CONSTANTLY SMALL AMOUNTS... THATS MY GUESS..

Tam,

7 days between waterings at this stage of flowering seems to me to be a bit too long? I'm watering every 4th day, maybe 5th if pot is not light enough but I couldnt go 7 days! Are you sure they are not drying out too much? For comparison, last grow at this stage my grow diary (yes, I'm a sad bast**d who writes it all down!!!) tells me that at 6 weeks 12/12 I was putting a litre of water through each pot every 4th day. This grow I'm doing a little less, maybe 700ml each watering....how does that compare mate?

Nutrients: again last grow/same stage 2ml bio bizz 'grow' (for the N) plus 2ml of bio bizz 'bloom' plus a blob of molasses per 2 litre bottle water PH'd down to 6.2/6.4 range. Now depending on the look of the plant I would then dilute that bottle further with plain water as required.........hope that make sense? I would say they need a good feed tam, but don't overload it too strong. At around 6 weeks 12/12 I would also introduce a single shot of canna PK13/14, just a one off shot.

I'd look at your watering/feed regime mate? Other than that not much can be done about the cold BUT they are budding up well still, as they do :-) If you need to add N fast seaweed is brilliant, I have done entire grows start to finish on just what I picked off the beach here at low tide, seaweeds, kelps, cockle and mussel shells etc etc, all stuck in 2 litre bottles and given a good shake up, after a few days it STINKS, but man do you get healthy green looking plants! You have to watch your salt build ups though, but it was never a problem apart from my skin allergy to certain sea foods, were it not for that I'd still be growing that way ;-(

Hope this info gives you something to think about mate, you're still going to get some nice buds though :-)

hi MS thats has cleared it up a lot better thanks. i only left them go for 7 days to totally rule out them being overwatered.

hopefully by the end of the day they will have perked up again, im just not going to worry about the cold any more but i do need to get a more accurate ph tester.

i will be back in a min with a pic of the male thats been outside in the blistering cold for the last 3 weeks!!!!

[yeah it is a long time with out water but if the roots are damage and i bet they were they would take time to recuperate ... even if they are soak in H2o they cant take any when roots have been shock... its a deficiency but not becus you aint giving it enough but because she cant absorve it... i put my house to this cus i had the same problem when i transplanted my blueberry and panic and added a shit load of nutes and when she got better i burn the shit out of her... look before and after... see my buds took for ever to mature ... and i ended harvesting early remember that if she is sick she would need more time to mature so is a set back but not a lost cause... give her time plain old water plus a nute feeding once or twice per week and she would bounce back...
