Cheopo CFL bagseed grow.

I wanted to see what I can do on a really tight budget . I don't expect huge yields of of weed that will put method man on his ass.I am well aware I won't get much with this equipment , I'm just doing this for fun and I wanted to make a grow journal maybe someone will find it interesting.

I am doing 12/12 light schedule from seed because I want to keep the plant pretty small as my grow box is literally a cardboard box and its pretty small and I have to keep it under the radar so to speak.

I have:
Some "proffesional" potting soil which is something along the lines of 4/2/2 with a pH of 6.8 (my dad used it to veg tomatoes).

Cheap nutrients that have more K which I will use when it starts to flower

A single 1800 lumen CFL bulb warm white (I know I am supposed to use 6400k for vegging but fuck it I read somewhere that warm white stimulates faster growth and I can only have one light).

Random bagseed which if I am not mistaking was some pretty potent indica heavy hybrid.

In the attached pictures the plant is currently 7 days old AFTER it sprouted from the soil (I germinated directly in soil which took like a week).

Looks absolutely fantastic for its age but I hate to bring the hammer down on you but you won't see this through til the end with that equipment. When you repot use some perlite in the soil mix :D

Hey thanks man :) . But can you please elaborate on why I won't see it through till the end , what do you mean that I wont get any buds whatsoever ?. Also I don't plan to repot it because I want to keep the plant small.
Oh and I like how on the second leave set which are supposed to be 3 leaved one of the leaves is webbed , mutant weed :D

CFLs are good for lighting up your desk or your room or whatever but they are very inefficient when it comes to growing plants. Either look into small wattage HPS/MH/CMH (I think you can go as low as 25 watters, but you'll need to assemble your own ballast - voltage regulator, ignitor and capacitor) or get more CFLs or LEDs :D also def need to get a bigger pot and the plant gets older. with perlite. Alright sorry for the ramble good luck man it's a great hobby if you ask me :D

Yeah man I know my lighting is not up to par but I am doing this just out of interest. When I come around to some bank I plan to get better lighting and build a real grow box , this won't be happening soon though :/

9th day since sprout.
Does it look like its stretching ? I did some slight bending on the stem and I gently rubbed it hoping for it to get thicker and slow down vertical growth. Its been growing as close as possible without burning it to the light since it sprouted.

More LST , I pulled back some fan leaves to uncover the stem so it can get light , the bottom inner nodes seem to have had a grow a bit , I still don't know if what I am doing is benefiting the plant or hindering it.

nope no sunlight.I am doing 12/12 from seed and becausd of my schedule (getting up at 6)
the dark perioud is during the day, my balcony only gets around 3 hours of direct sunlight anyways.

well done then, they look great!

but as they get bigger, if you could add a few desk lamps with bigger fluro bulbs screwed in, yo might actually get to harvest a couple a grams of good bud! Aim for 4x the lumens that you have - 100W (real watts, not 'incandescent equivalent') of CFL on that plant and you can see the results other people have achieved, this guy (@gardengardian7) is a CFL genius.

At most I can get another desk lamp with another 1800 lumen bulb when it starts flowering, I will be happy with "popcorn" bud even :D

14th day since sprout.
Inner nodes are responding well to the LST , the nutes I gave this thing promote "shiny leaves" but I don't know if its just the plant or because of the nutrients but they look pretty shiny to me :).

I know its early to tell but I read somewhere that early on you can tell if a plant is going to be male or female , supposedly males grow lanky and sparse and femalse are shorter and bushier.
I really hope this isn't a male because I have only one plant .

The only real way to tell is when they either grow flowers or pollen sacks.
Your plant could be growing lanky because either it's too far away from the light or it's a sativa or a combination of the 2.

Nice dude, I actually have a box (cardboard) with a single 28w CFL that I use to germinate my seeds. Works just fine for me, and I think yours will do fine for you also. Great job keeping it cheap and simple! ~ Let us know how it turns out man :leaf:
