Chilli world

Thought I might throw in a couple pictures since it's coming to that time of year.

I'm using my chillis this year to test out a few things. Have one each of Jalapeno and Cayenne in a Flood and Drain, Run to Waste and my own potting soil (mostly compost and horse manure). Want to try some more hydroponics so thought this would be a good excuse. Hopefully we'll see some results. Chose those particular types because I can never have too many of either, hoping it may be a first this year.

I've been growing chillis for years in pots but never had much consistent success except for a few specific plants. First picture is a couple of those, my Firecracker plants from last year (excuse the weeds, it's gotten pretty feral in that bed over winter). Produced really well and make awesome powder. Hacked back over winter and they're just starting to shoot again now. Never lost their leaves, it stays pretty warm here, just look a little secondhand.

Also going to be trying a St Martins Habanero or two as well as some Tabascos. Hopefully they'll germinate soon. Have some other seeds including some Arseclown Jolokias and Aji Lemon but we'll try and get some others settled first.

Awesome !!keep posting pics as you go along..

I'm liking the fruit\chilli sauces recently. This Kiwifruit Habanero is one of my current favourites.

The other is a killer hot sauce from a Mexican place in Melbourne. Asked the owner if I could buy a bottle and he encouraged me to steal one. Since it's made fresh there and has no preservatives they couldn't sell it. Wish I could recreate that one.
