Chinese versus Western lights

they pick western names its an entire thing all asian countries who chose a CS job will pick a western name
because westerns are too asshole sometimes to attempt to pronounce their actual given names with respect

its a industry problem as a whole , very few chose to call themselves by their given names.

but its also specific for the women side it also stems of aggressive males who lash out at us women.

I could send an email as Frank and get better results with someone than sending it with my actual name (im a woman )
its a problematic situation all around.
having worked many years in a call center environment I will agree that 99.9% of callers are assholes. that said, as a consumer/customer when I need customer service I want to be able to understand the person on the other end of the phone - they can call themselves whatever they want, but if I cannot understand then it's moot.
having worked in the corporate world for decades, it's been my experience that the majority of personnel issues involve two women, rather than two men or a man and a women. and, having worked a customer-facing position for just as long, I can confidently say women can lash-out at folks and drop f-bombs just as well as the men - or however folks choose to identify. having taken many heater calls ('I want to speak with your supervisor!') I can say that women are not bashful about tearing into the previous rep - who was a female. oddly, those customers who have called back to apologize for their behavior (yes, it actually happens) tend to be male.
most of the emails I receive - and my team averages 5k inbound a month - are so horribly composed that the name at the end (if there is one) simply doesn't matter. if I do notice the name it's only to think 'this guy/girl is a fucking idiot and/or asshole' - but that sentiment is spread equitably (as we're strong proponents of DE&I)
I do find it interesting that when I go for a walk through the various neighborhoods around me, many people - male/female, black/white/brown, old/young - fail to meet my gaze or respond when I say 'hello.' I suppose I could chalk that up to some sort of '-ism,' or take offense (as seems to be the go-to in this day and age), but I just chuckle - maybe they think I'm undercover police/DEA/immigration?

The only people that scared the shit out of me at work were all men, the ones you hoped didn’t come by or come back and start shooting people. Screaming matches on a fucking guide, with clients. Same shit in a store and a bar I was well acquainted with.
Sorry

@Playk328 i have a Phlizon PL1000 in a 60cmx60cm tent and it serves well. I pulled 2x 1 & 1/2 oz plants in 1 litre homemade airpots using MC 1 part. It’s a good light and definitely worth the money. I think I have a discount code from when I got mine PM if you want it.

as long as they have a CE or UL rating, i'd buy whatever fits your budget. unless they faked that rating which is entirely possible.

My mate had them for about 3-4 weeks under some cfls and passed them on to me. I’ll try and find some pics of the grow. Yes it was on 100% and I also f***ked up with the humidity as UK was hitting temps of nearly 40c at the time lol
If it was my grow from the start she would of been fim’d and tied down like a b**ch!

Western lights are just Chinese parts assembled outside of China.
Or assembled in China, but the business paid an additional fee to mark them as their own brand. Everything is manufactured in China now. The only difference between now and pre-Covid is that the Chinese manufacturers weren't selling direct to the North American market as they are now in terms of lighting and tents. The 'North American' re-sellers are simply getting cut from the equation. So spending more money on ANY brand name, when the sticker still says "Made In China", is silly.

1.5g per watt is pretty much an average yield with LEDs and 1.75g per watt is achievable in a basic setting. My first plant was grown under 90w worth of household globes and pulled 120g and I usually average around 300g out of a 200w quantum board in a 2x4, with 355g being my best.

1-2g per watt is what I have always known or been told, I believe there is many of ways to try and increase your yield…. Certain nutrients, topping/fimming, LST/HST there are loads of brains to pick on RIU to help you out. All u gotta do is ask or look around.

Chinese companies may also be the real owners of seemingly American LED Grow Light outfits. Some are on site all night where I live and off from early morning until early evening. Funny schedule.
Make sure whatever you buy has first rate components and you’ll be fine.

since this thread is already a shit show-

china follows RoHS…. The US (besides CA) does not.

in the medical world at least - china has stricter standards of compliance than the EU and US. Companies have to make specific “china” models in order to be compliant.

just a random bit of information…

SIMMS... As the only company making fishing waders in USA and the first company to introduce breathable waders in the early 90s, SIMMS is in a class of it's own when it comes to the production of high-quality, American-made waders. SIMMS has been based out of Bozeman since 1993

£600 for the G4 jacket £750 for the G4 waders.

I wonder if all the major North American brands are reskinned china products with a hefty markup price... A bit messed up if that's the case.

DLC rating is important here. The power company here will actually pay for 25% of your light in the form of a rebate if you buy DLC rated grow lights.
