Choosing a rosin press

16.29g from trim! Trim!! That is insane. I was so short of kief last attempts I didnt think it was worth it.

Im terrified of pressing it took all day to sift. A good few hours of decent labor. But it comes from weed that yielded rosin.

Idk how shelf time and rh / storing conditions effects it but cannot get same results each time anyway with pressing IME. Even if I tried and I did.

Can anyone refresh me on what to do and what you would do with this on the press to minimize risks maybe two presses. I might wait a day just for feed back. I am scared of messing up.

Double bag? Pillow style? Avoid blow out?

I would pre press it into a little brick and follow the nug smasher tech. easy to find on you tube!

I couldnt find anything but the nugsmasher guy saying not to press kief and I think dry sift because he said only bubble.

I watched a few other videos though and it explained how grinder style kief is different from trim tray kief and he got a 60% return, was oozing right away.

I actually got similar results as shown here earlier that the kief I had was grinder kief type quality. I didnt realize there were sub tiers within tiers, I tried asking earlier what the difference is.

I only really know ablut the heads being best and stalks being second and thats all there is other than sauce. I still dont get why I have such a “low” quality extract even if I press it.

This trim I think sat separate but has white dots all over leaves, is it mold? I dont think any of trim I sifted was like that and was mostly a different strain.

Dried in dry rh 35% so idk how it did that unless it need be burped I thought its ok if its dry enough.

I got a good amount more to do I now saw but idk if I want to consume this. Does it look suspect?

After looking closely it seems ok but what is it, just the way it dried out? Im about to press 6gs kief I think I know how Im going to trial it out.

Ooof, idk what it is but its not normal. Under joulers loup it is like a gunky resiny material almost like eggs of a bug idk for sure not good. I would of seen it on the other trim right away its super suspect soon as you see it.

Just gonna toss the rest, my guess its a type of mold from sitting in closed bags too long. Or bug related.

32% yield off 6gs trim bin kief. I just dabbed it, I guess there is quite the difference between that and flower rosin. I still love it but yea this is great. 1.9gs kief rosin.

The after taste is so strong wow so terpy compared to my rough batch flower rosin I beat up too much so was flavorless almost. Even compared to my best flower rosin.

Last time it was dark and only like .1gs but it was notably a more up beat zooted high than the flower rosin. Gots to have more thc.

Vapes cleaner too. I wouldnt mind trying to have a small batch of something like this for times that call for it.

And You still get to bake with the pucks.

So you are using the shaking technique. I have been trying to go with the rotating drum. Maybe I should switch to your method.

Another 1.9gs, 1.8 to be exact. 6g kief puck and 4gs so I lost yield? I guess so but meh I am lucky to finally have a decent successful harvest.

23% overall yield 16gs kief 32% first time from 6gs and 18% from 10gs kief second time the next day. Goes to show the randomness of yield for various reasons.

Its why I try to press it all asap. I had seen yields go up and down from waiting to press or different batch weed cut at different times from same plant.

In this case maybe it lost moisture sitting open over night so I put in sandwich bag until tonight.

Or just coincidence or inconcistency, between two bags kief one might of had more from the strain that yields more. Or the otherway around for no clear reason.

Puts into perspective my questions a while ago. Why cant kief be dabbed? I guess full melt no matter how you get there is full melt, perfect. Never had that by the way. In over a decade smoking never had it.




But anyways, I only pressed 2gs kief max a few times and got nothing pretty much. So with all that extra kief I am able to flow out the oils which are dab-able.

I can see the sugar that came out of it. Im still unsure of why flower rosin is dirtier, what else does the oil pull with it that kief is able to be isolated from?

This dabs clean as heck, it dont even turn black when I discard it, its still dark amber. Burns almost like live resin. I think I answered my question, whats left behind in the puck of kief would get through normally with larger micron with flower rosin!

Right? Idk but it felt good to realize that. I never dabbed hash rosin low temp which is a great way to consume it with respect. Its not meant to be torched.

See if you can fold that bag in half and suck on top of each other to get more PSI I feel like there should be more on the paper around that brick

Im not worried about yield in that sense I just want a good amount of it for now and want it to be best quality. I dont want to get every last drop out of it it probably wont turn out as good and need be separated.

There wasnt anymore coming out so I called it a day. I need get me a washer and better dry sift tools, I really am digging the hash rosin. This stuff is notably stronger idk why Im just now experiencing that.

Id say I never had hash rosin in an erig which is big difference, the manual rigs dont compare. Only time I did was when I pressed low quality store bought kief and only got one dab. It was notably this racey high that Im only just now expiriencing again and this is doing the same thing.

here I am at it again. Rawdogging not wrapping it. Well, this batch is harsh to vape. Burns throat and no good taste. I seem to have better results with flower rosin rather than with this tumbler hash.

How many gs kief? I need 6 to have a decent press and I double bag 37u inside 160u to keep the inner bag micron from bulging, preventing other things to pass through. I only succeeded twice though. Thats just what Id do again.
