Choosing a rosin press

The power of hand trimming.. My prepress mold can only handle like 6oz before needs be cleaned. Used to be every pound lol.

37gs flower to 19% 7.17gs flower rosin. Hit 20% once and even 20.3%. See shes a 20% after all. Of course with a small batch. Hand trim ya herbz!

This didnt yield dry sift, the porto leche literally yielded nothing while the kongs krush did a bit better. The trim which had some watermelon ultra in it is what dumped enough to give a gift of dry sift like two gs.

Not worth pressing and the ground bud to de seed by hand was actually pretty smokable. Both strains. I know the KK is a smooth delicious smoke but I guess the PL is too.

The PL retains its potency when shredded more than the KK. So I learned some strains/phenos can handle quite the manhandling machine trimming etc and still be smokable. While its true sometimes delicate handling can double the hash as shown its not always a concern.

So Im just giving away thee PL and KK Im just glad I have someone to give to so it dont go to waste.

Oh yea and pressing the Kk made good tasting rosin no harshness even though more seeded. So aint that a thinker. While things wen bad with these two plants I learned a few important things. Before panicking just smash an eighth and dab it if its seeded, it migjht be salvagable if you have good rosin yield like 12% or more.

Hell 10% isnt horrible either. It did taste a little like seeds but mostly good.The PL seeded not as bad but somehow tasted very seeded and harsh on the throat just dabbing it.

I see I didnt add that I pressed the porto leche and kongs krush the PL 10% high and low temp press and the KK I grew before and knew high temps is the best yield for it. KK only 6.6%. The PL just like one showed further back in thread that it yields better low temp, it loses yield pressing high temp and it kinda did that to me too.

Im thinking its a bad couple phenos. Im about to grow a WU bean and see what happens. If its low yield thats a dead give away its pheno dependant. I cant find jack when I try researching online the million dollar question: Is hash yield dependent on pheno aka each seed same strain?!

The Kk should of been 15% and the PL 20% plus. The PL seeded hard and was rank tasting and harsh. The KK more seeded but its not taste bad and not harsh.

I had two new plants I was validating that didnt pass the hermy test to two plants about an oz each seeded hard. Rest of my garden good. Just gonna run my mvp that I know best it dont ever seed.

I found one plant was rank tasting like straight seeds and harsh. The other was more seeded but actually barely taste seeds and even tastes good, not harsh either.

You shouldn't be pressing anything with seed. Your extracting seed oil along with it. Oil, wax and lipids are not good for your lungs.
If you've got a seeded crop, you should wash it and make bubble. Press out the water with a 25 screen and then sift it. Take that sifted hash and freeze dry. If you can't freeze dry then just air dry in freezing temps. Once dry, sift again and then press.

They dont always dump in bubble, has to be a good strain for it. Otherwise Id dry sift and press the sift. Thanks for the tip about the seeds, I figured it was shedding something so thanks. Bubble though I see it like this, if you cant get good sift out of it it probably would of done poor.

I only had two oz so Id need to test wash some of it and I just doubt theyd done anything in bubble. Even if I had a decent bubble strain Im not guarenteed to get 60% yield and above.

Its just very unpredictable. Just using one pheno I got 15-40% dry sift rosin back which is pretty unreliable to count on. If it wont yield good flower rosin its not just going to become a 60% yielder.

Some people get 60% dry sift rosin yield but I dont think its a fluke. It must of dumped in foower rosin and bubble/bubble rosin. I need like 6-9gs to make a good press of sift rosin.

Bubble is a good way to lose everything if you dont test wash first. Like say I got a 20% bubble yielder.. I wouldnt be suprised if due to not having freeze drier that I get results like 10-20% bubble rosin from the bubble.

Its way too much effort when my watermelon ultra flower rosin is just great to say the least. I get 20% all I do is dry, not even any way in particular, just dry and press. No if ands or buts.

Other than sometimes I could lose a couple percent for unknown reasons. Maybe diff expression same pheno type thing. Something not being up to par in the grow idk. Im happy with 17% too. I did hit 19% last press.

So its already hard to explain why I lost a few percent let alone why the bubble isnt yielding. I dont think it just magically melts better, it either has junk in the trunk or dont. I cant even find another flower rosin keeper after trying enough.

Hope that explains why I just aint a bubble guy. Im a perpetual clone grower I mother plants. I build my stash then look for new shit now. So I dont mind the loss, its 3-6months worth of smoke for my fam. I learned from it.

My watermelon ultra test washed at like 5-7% return so its not good for everything. Id have to go out my way to find one that dumps in bubble and bubble rosin which are two different processes that can yield different each time.

I have a 50 square ft garden and my best strain only does like 25oz if I dial things in. I changed everything to fix a few issues so I wont get 25 first time or maybe will. What Im saying is I dont yield enough to work with enough bubble.

I need 100gs rosin minimal 130gs would be great. I can almost guarentee myself it yet I need to learn my new enviorment. To stuff them but not too much. If Im short Im not happy. Bubble and bubble rosin sound like a nightmare.

I wont know if I got me 130gs until Im sitting there saying fuck my life lol.

And its not as simple as saying here, buy these beans from so and so and youll get 25% flower rosin. I did that and only got 10% of seeded trash. Imagine bubble lol. I got to move on pretty quick with minimal dissapointment.

As for vaping fats and lipids etc I didnt stop to wonder if flower rosin isnt very good for you therefore.. Well I dont care its better than smoking its still a lot less junk. Are the seeds that much worse to dab? Idk I just wouldnt grow it if it seeds.

Not all flower rosin is equal some are more rougher than others. Some strains like my michael jordan mvp watermelon ultra its just got so much real hash in it I dont care for some impurities.

I went from 12% to 19% going from machine trim to hand trimming. Theres got to be something special going on with that much added weight. Its as good as sex.

Can you tell which one was hand trimmed? Same pheno same clone.
