Cloning Cutting Question ?

Well Nosh, congrats on the female find. Now we need some branching.
From what I understand by topping the plant you force the hormones down and the plant produces more branches to make up for it. People also do this to control the height. Thats what I would do. I dont know but getting some cfls closer to the ares you want the branches will probaly help.

As far as the bottom growth. It should be removed anyway. That will never amount to anything and it just sucks the juice out of the plant. Thats why they are called suckers. You may as well try and clone it. Get some practice. Hell I was over a buds house helping him out. We were cleaning up his grow and took lower cuttings. I told him to toss a few in a glass of water and give them some light maybe they will grow. Well they did. It took a while but now he has three more small females.

Its better to use the right stuff but hey its a weed right?

yo, when u say put them in water, do u mean get a glass or something and leave the stem fully submerged in the water with light over it?

Your telling me the LOWER growth.. As in all the lower fan leaves cut them off ?

wow I have been fucking up my lighting schedule soo bad... Just stayed away for a night and didn't get back in time to turn them on for 12/12

N E Ways I am going to go and buy a timer today!

you should take your clone cuttings from branches.... this plant is unusual because of the single sets of leaves so im not sure what you should do... however when taking cutting make sure you do it at a 45 degree angle and make sure that you dip it immediately in your rooting hormone because any air caught in the stem will cause it to die.

It looks like you have some possible clone sites at the very bottom of your plant, but they aren't quite big enough yet. If possible, try and get some light down there so it will grow - either add some CFL's or bring your CFL's around to the sides of the plant. I usually get good branching with 6500K lights in veg.

I've done something similar quite a few times. Here's a couple of pics of a clone (in 2 gallon pot) I threw into flower as soon as it rooted (checking to see if it's a good candidate for SOG). The last pic is another clone from the same plant that I vegged for about 2 months.

yeah what cruser said, you should cut the top period. it should help it bush out and split off to two branches, then their you have 1 clone from topping the plant, and the stuff at the bottom needs to be cut away anyways, something went wrong with that plant their are no shoots i dont get it. thats what u get from bag seed i guess

Im sorry, What I meant by the lower growth is not the fan leaves. Your plant has like 5 sets of fan leaves. Leave those alone.

What I meant was the small stuff right next to the dirt.
You can cut that off and clone it. I assume thats growing out of the plant and not other small plants in that container.

As far as putting the cutting into water I think he used toothpicks to hold most of the plant out of water and about an inch in the water. After a couple weeks it grew roots.
