hey guys, especially the ones living in US... can anyone tell me whats the difference between HGL 550 and HGL 600H ? The only diff i noticed is the aluminium board and US production for the 550 model. anyone knows if this website selling them is reliable (growerslights dot com) ? thanks so much

I have the 600H from growerslights.
It has 4x 288 QBs and puts out 620 watts.
So, it's more powerful than the 550.
But the 550 has better overall build quality and comes with 3 or 5 year warranty.
The 600H only has 1 year warranty.

4x QB288 (2x 4000K, 1x 3000K, 1x 2700K) with a HLG-480H-54A driver in custom aluminum rail frame (3/4"). Strains are Pineapple Chunk (left) and Purple Afghan Kush (right), Power Grape (small one) and a pepper tree/bonsai.

Why did you start flowering so early? You could've vegged longer and yield more in the end.
 
That’s true, but they aren’t doing themselves any favor by overcharging. Customers will always go the cheaper route. Were not talking chump change here. That’s a 170$ difference for the same light.
 
how do you clean the diodes if dusty? my first hlg 300 the spectrum wasnt marked on board is 3000k the default? would 2 300's plus 2 cx1's be too much light in a 4x4?

True about the shipping part but HLG Canada also has to charge GST+PST which is 12% for BC.

Indoor Farmer
1350+37+180=1567$
(Shipping is free if you pickup at store) 1530$

HLG Canada
1520x1.12=1702$

how many boards would be recommended for a 5x6x8 room. I would also be interested if anyone is adding far red, IR and UV and how they are doing this.

i would go for one qb 550 - i have the same dimensions for my grow room and it works just fine... never tried with uv and ir so far.
