Coco Growers Unite!

hey everyone im looking at doing a coco grow since I've heard so many good things about it, they carry plantbest coco at a local hardware store but I'm not sure which grade would be the best. I'm doing a non hydro grow just need a soil replacement (i will be using general hydro nutes if that makes a difference) here are a couple links to the products they carry

I am personally thinking the 3042 growercoir loosefill from the second link would be the best option just from what I've read in this thread but I would like an experienced coco growers opion thanks very much
 
Hey guys quick question.. i really need some help

im getting ready to start a pretty legit set up ive been working on for some time now and im in the final process of going about buying most of it and ive decided on AN sensi grow & bloom a+b , and will be growing in either 100% coco or like a 70/30 or 80/20 ratio of coco and a pro mix soil i have left over.. (to reduce waterings slightlly and give roots and nutes more to "hold")


SOO .. with that being said i realize im going to need to manage ph a and ppms with my feedings and runoffs. i would love and appreciate so much if someone could run me through the most basic method of doing this. what should be my ph for nutes and ph for water? what should be ppm for nutes vs when i water with clean water? do these values change as the plant matures? also if anyone has a link to a well or personally known brand of equipment to use for this that would be SO GREAT.


i really need some help w this as im a noob and my first grow was a fail. (in my defense it was heat issue) lol but i hope someone has the time to leave me some advice. PEACE!:bigjoint:
 
Ok would using a alfalfa tea have any benefits when use straight synthetics everday besidez my myco teas that ive been told are killed instintly. Im just interested in organics but i only have a closet to bloom with 1 400w.
So i grow in straight coco 1 anf 2 gallon pots and synthetic nutes get job done period. So would bubbling a alfalfa tea bag maybe with mycos too be a good idea i also have a 50 50 humic fulvic blend.

This is my apollo 13 cut its a good one for bubble hash any hash lol i just have a cheap phone ive tried study microshots/pics idk
 
Damn i cant believe how big this buds getting im believer in air flow and a feeding schedule. ive used only a 400w hps in the closet. seems like its going forever already took a lower nug off. It dried in 3 days and was real good even tasted good. maybe il get a good pic 2moro damn thing sticks i got it took in the corner and that cola is past my reflector. sucks trying to grow bubba kush with apollo 13 lol doesnt work to good. I stack them on empty pots to lift them a few.

i use basement mix which is a coco based soil-less mix...heres day 43 of 12/12

Hated Airpots with Coco. The fans blow the coco all out the sides of the pots constantly and makes your grow room a mess. The room I used them in at the time had 24 plants so it was a nightmare. I tossed them.

Im all 5 gal buckets now for flower and Smartpot cloth pots in veg.

I heard they work good with the autopot system but not as good as the company explains, bushier plants is what u get don't know if it an creates much more yield
 
woah! my fault NOT airpots, i meant smartpots or geopots or any other FABRIC containers where water can get inside without holes. i believe thats where most folks that have attempted flood n drain w coco has had their difficulty with clogging due to the holes on reg pots where coco/perlite may slip through.
 
The only time I notice space between the smart pots and coco is when I pick up a pot by its rim, then the pots are torn from the coco creating a little space inbetween. So when I absolutely need to pick them up, I always do so from the bottom of the pot to avoid this. Even more important, don't pick them up! The smart pot makers recommend leaving their pots stationary because picking them up and moving them around breaks up the formed root structure. Hope this makes some sense as to what I'm getting at.
