i keep reading all the talk about runoff being a must with coco but i havent had any problems running it like promix with just normal waterings.i run my coco girls around 1/2 strength nutes in veg and 3/4 strength in flower but i do try to make sure it doesnt get too dry.it does get pretty dry once in a while but i do a decent job of not letting that happen.when it dries i will run weak nutes,like 300-400 ppm that day and then go back to my normal feeds.heres some bubblegum and power kush in 5 gallon pots of coco,the pk is about a month ago,the bgum is still in flower.im running ionic and a/n in both the coco and promix but im really diggin this coco shizzle,peace

got a quick newbie question..
i just transplanted to 10 gal pots, 60/40 coco perlite
i have cns 17 from botanicare as my base veg nute and i have heavy 16 prime
how strong should i feed with these nutes, how often should i be feeding, and how much water should i be putting through 10 gal pots?

im no familiar with the heavy 16 but i run the cns17 @ 800-1000ppm in veg with no problems.unless your gunna check runoff once in a while i suggest you water till you see a good amount of runoff,like a gallon in that size pot.but if ya dont wanna waste a gallon every water just keep tabs on your runoff once a week and make sure the plants are using up what your feeding and ph is in line.one thing i didnt like about coco before i started using it was how everyone said ya gotta water to 10-20% runoff.for me that would be a big fuckin mess.so i just keep tabs on my runoff once in a while and water as if they were in dirt with coco ph of 5.8-6.0 seems to work for me,if i see my ppms going up ill just hit em a few times with calmag and water real light then back to normal feeds.but i feed every water like this and usually dont have to stop like i just mentioned.gl

yeah 10 gal is pretty big for coco,could def grow some trees like that lol.

You dont need run off if your using drip clean, plus i think your using much to large of pot for coco

I'm growing with a miracle gro product call expand and gro. Suppose to be their version of coco with nutes already in it. Not sure what the mix of other ingredients is. Should I water it like coco or soil? When watering coco I think I read on here that you don't let it dry out like with soil, is that true? How do you promote root growth then? I need help please

They are huge pots and huge plants. I'm not drip feeding them I'm hand watering them. I still need advice for this, how much water and often to water?

I'm in week 4 of flower in 5g pots and i'm giving them a gallon every other day which results in slight runoff. I recently put in a bottom drain in my room so I can appreciate not wanting to have a big mess. Having the drain is really nice. Draining to waste with every watering has really got them in high gear. I'm also adding a teaspoon of vinegar per gallon. Not sure which change (if not both) is making the difference but my plants have never looked this good 4 weeks into flower.
If anyone still remembers the debate regarding watering frequency and pot size, so far, the more frequent watering looks to be beneficial but pot size (3g versus 5g) isn't making a difference. I'm not sure if the more frequent watering helps because of more nutes or the actual moisture level. I feed GO with every watering.

Yes, Canna designs their nutes to be supplemented with 200 ppm of cal-mag.
