...canna designs their nutrients for tap water containing 200 ppm's of cal/mag... if your tap water doesnt contain the 200 ppm than you need to add it yourself. or if you are using R/O water than you will also need to add it.
i've been keeping up with this thread and though i had to pull the plug on my original coco attempt i have 7 girls in coco right now - 2 grape punch, 2 purple urkle, 2 mendo purps, 1 og kush.
i was using watermill ro/di water and i really think the stuff is incompatible with canna coco products. seriously - i had 6 fresh cuttings all rooted dispensary clones. brought them home and put them in brand new canna coco in 3gal pots and began feeding with coco a+b, rhizotonic & cannazyme.
they were totally locked out for the first three days. i couldn't figure it out... pH - 5.7, ppm - 400, nutes - all brand new canna juice. wtf?
they weren't growing at all, the leaves began curling down towards the main stem, all the stems and petioles turned burgandy/purple, necrotic spots on older leaves...
then i went to the canna website to see what difference the ppm of one's tapwater makes in their prescribed feeding chart. none.
so i began using simply unfiltered tap water left to sit uncovered overnight and now 2 days later all 7 plants have almost fully recovered! i think it may be all the extra processes that watermill water goes through but i won't be using it with canna coco products anymore. the og kush was so bad i put her on the back porch one morning to die alone outside but the cali sunlight made the difference and she's the biggest one now!
that said, i still use watermill ro/di water for my dwc plants which are fed with only advanced nutrients products and have had no problems there. i'm still saving up for my own ro unit.
does canna have a tech line i could call for an explanation?
do any of you other canna coco growers use watermill ro/di or other deionized water?
