Comment on my CFL Flowers

Just took a look at the freebies for attitude today.. The first two freebies are sativa

sounds like a good strain.

sativas are the bees knees.

Hell no to sativas. Bad news to CFL growers. Need better light penetration and taller grow areas for sativas.

I feel safer working out of my home. No large forests near me. Don't want to put in 2 months of work just to have some teenager jack my plant.

Day 24



So I noticed the first problem on her today. She has her two new leaf tips brown. I will be watching over the next 2 days to see if it gets worse. Hopefully it won't become a major problem.



Otherwise all is well. She is growing and more roots are showing at the bottom. Should be easy to transplant her on Monday. Noticed earlier today she had been on a 16/8 schedule since I put her in the mini tent.








Gave my cats some catnip. Fun to watch.

Day 25



She was getting really big. About the size of her pot. I didn't feel safe waiting till Monday.




I repotted at a good time, her roots were starting to circle the pot.




She was potted with a 1/4 dosage nutrient watering. 3/4 gallon was too much water for the pot. Next watering I will use a little under a half gallon.

She is now downstairs with three 26w 6500k bulbs over her. The timer has been switched to 5pm-5am light. (12/12)

Keeping the veg lights? I did it last grow and it worked pretty well.

First grow I had 1/3 5000k and 2/3 2700k at the 12/12 switch.

This grow I will add 2700k after the stretch and prob go half/half on the color. Not dead set on that yet.. gotta research.

you might be rigth about having to grow indica in small spaces :/

ill see what happens. my tomato is root bound in a 1/4 gallon at 9-10 weeks..its giving up veg sites left and right

Fluroscents work best with short plants, like a sea of green tends to produce. If your using short plants and enough fluroscent light you shouldn't have any problem with adjusting lights.

Also, we run 1000 watt HPS and MH, HID lighting in additon to the fluros. And I've never seen a cutting that didnt' do better for taste qaulity and potency under fluroscent lights. Yield is less under fluroscents, but that's the only advantage I see to using HID's rather then fluros.

Marc Emery made the comment to me that obviously thumb size produced nugs were going to be better then. A large CO2 injected garden, with HID's. And that is correct to a point, CO2 allows bigger grows to produce despite usual higher temps. with a lowered quality etc.

But beyond the CO2, the actual fluroscent lighting is simply superior to HID's for producing a better over all product, except for yield.

When I first started telling people about my fluro results. I was meet with extreme ridicule, from even the most experienced growers.

But there is a lot more people growing with fluros now, so people seem to be more open minded...

I've done it over and over again so many times, there really doesn't seem to be another answer. And I feel quite confident, in presenting this information as factual.
