Compost Tea

Few Tea Questions:

1. Can you feed 2 week old seedlings compost tea?

2. How long of a
duration does a bubbling batch last?

3. How is potency related to amount or duration of fermentation?

I’ll be using local compost from:

“Hawaiian Organic Nui”.

“Soil Conditioner Compost Microbial enhancer”.

You can start tea regimen right away but seedlings don’t need much at all. Tea benefits the soil more than it does for the plants unless a nutrient tea is brewed. “Potency” is not really related to duration of brew time but microbial activity can tends to peak around 24-36 hours of brewing.
Keeping soil in a container is always a challenge so this is why we give teas to keep the mix highly active. A tea can boost microbial activity for many weeks but there is a limit depending upon the amount of organic material in the soil and its composition.
