And this is a surprise to everyone? Every 3 letter agency has probably done this since they were first accessible.

"The FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have reportedly been using driver’s license photos for facial recognition searches without license holders' knowledge or consent."

It's common knowledge that known techniques and public documents are used to identify humans.

Where is the trauma drama?

Equifax has reached a settlement in their breach of information lawsuit. This link lets you check if you are affected. At the minimum, you are able to get free credit monitoring or $125 if you're included.

That was the same message I got and choose/will choose to take the free credit monitoring for X years instead of the $125. I suspect most people are in this category, (just having some of their personal info exposed). I never had any fraudulent charges on my card(s) like you and Tangie.

I guess I passed, checked link and it said they didn't get me.

Talked to the debit card girl at the bank Monday and everything is square now.

Except the only way I can get money is go to the bank and withdraw cash until new card and new checks come.

I hardly ever use checks but ordered some just in case.

It's just a fucking shame modern technology works both ways like that.

One of my daughters lost $900 like that 10 yrs. ago, she claims they told her the pin number was compromised and they wouldn't cover it. It sounded pretty strange.

Then again, she may have just needed to borrow $900. Not the 1st time that happened. Lol.

Oh! It was a debit card?

Supposedly the equifax breach had nothing to do with debit cards. I dunno how but that’s what google said.

I forgot about debit card. Last year I was getting fucked with. Someone was making some small charges testing the limits and bank of america shut them down, corrected evrything right away.

Capital One breach

"The largest category of information accessed was information on consumers and small businesses as of the time they applied for one of our credit card products from 2005 through early 2019. This information included personal information Capital One routinely collects at the time it receives credit card applications, including names, addresses, zip codes/postal codes, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, and self-reported income"

"Millions of people have been signing up to receive what they think is a $125 cash reimbursement from Equifax for its criminal mishandling and exposure of their personal and financial data. But the FTC warns that you may see only a small fraction of that, if any, because of the way the $575 million settlement with the company actually breaks down".

The FTC’s Robert Schoshinski explains that the credit monitoring is the more valuable option anyway:
If you haven’t submitted your claim yet, think about opting for the free credit monitoring instead. Frankly, the free credit monitoring is worth a lot more – the market value would be hundreds of dollars a year. And this monitoring service is probably stronger and more helpful than any you may have already, because it monitors your credit report at all three nationwide credit reporting agencies, and it comes with up to $1 million in identity theft insurance and individualized identity restoration services".

"Equifax data breach victims who filed for a $125 settlement check will have an opportunity to change their selection and opt for free credit monitoring instead. The move follows a torrent of consumer requests for cash payments from the embattled credit company.
The Federal Trade Commission said Thursday consumers who have already requested their checks — which are meant as subsidies for outside credit monitoring services — will soon be contacted by the third party administrator handling Equifax settlement claims. The administrator will provide consumers with the chance to switch benefits, the FTC said."

So I'm having a phone problem.

Yesterday, I ran Google maps app to pick up my daughter from where she works now deep in the sticks.

Slow and sluggish as fuck, was basically useless. I figured out how to get there on my own which involved wrong turns, etc.

So I deleted all the updates, went back to the default original Goggle maps.

Tried running it today, same shit.

Screenshot_2019-08-31-15-09-10~2.png
Today I knew where I was and could watch it closer. Always searching for GPS. Another time I got a message that phone's location was shut off.

Screenshot_2019-08-31-15-27-30.png
But it's always on. I shut it off and on a few times, rebooted phone a bunch of times, still the same shit.

Texted my buddy at Verizon, he said try resetting Network settings. I haven't tried driving yet, but it doesn't look like it's going to work, not sure.

So, can a phone's location GPS just break and you need a new phone? It's only 2 years old, this sucks.

I drive into strange places all the time. Lol. I need Maps to work.

Maybe load another maps app and see if it works?

I'm running out of things to try. Fucking phone cost $1000, I should get more than 2 yr. out of it. WTF?
