Water glass is typically used to describe sodium silicate

The other is Kaliwasserglas

Probably. The terminology is all over the place. We call it water glass in my native tongue and that's 100% potassium silicate(at least the one sold here). Cheers!

Your remark about terminology is plausible. My touchstone is German for this one.

I'm in South Texas and use Cool Deck. Non slip and no problem heat wise walking barefoot. It is not a wet look.

I can read languages that I don't actually speak, and do so with decent pronunciation
