The guys who flew their planes into 3,000 people because "Americans are bad" didn't give a trial to all they killed so why should we give terrorists a trial? They declare themselves terrorists when they declare they are loyal to "the Jihad" and at that moment they need to be gone before they can kill more INNOCENT Americans...

Imo this is a nice sentiment but utopian. Every group of more than two people involves keeping secrets. It's simple human nature, and like many human traits it can grow out of control. But eliminating secrecy entirely is as unlikely as completely eliminating corruption. My opinion. cn

Is this something that could be proven in court?
I doubt it, but as a citizen, you and all the rest of us are supposed to have that constitutional protection.
Personally I believe al-Awlaki was guilty as hell & needed to go - but without the formality of a trial I have no concrete proof we really killed a terrorist, do you?

Treason is a very specific crime, the only crime defined in the Constitution.
"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted"
One of the reasons for this is for the protection of those who may be shown to have political issues with the country or its government. Note carefully, that there must be testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act..

but still, he didnt do anything but preach. how is he different from people on our soil saying how they'd like to kill blacks, other gang members, etc....its no different...america is full of preachers...they wanted to test real effectiveness of out of country drone abilities.

That is not the debate, I believe he was probably guilty, thou it is strange he was allowed to dine at the white house. The debate is not even about this man but about every Americans right to a trial.

Keep believing what the sheep tube tells you, I tried researching this, there is no good credible documents whatsoever in the public sphere that would hold up in court. Where is the transcript of this in arabic? I would like to translate it myself and not trust what the dum dum tube tells me. Very strange how there is only Media BS about this and no actuall documents. How do they even write these stories?
