Being black automatically makes her woke. Watch them complain about how pointing out their racism is somehow dehumanizing them, while out the other side of their mouth they lump anything left of their extreme position as insane. Fuck these people. I voted today.

Since all bigotry by definition dehumanizes the target class, the bolded is the kahuna, the ace of spades, the 800-pound gorilla.

Get people to rent that idea, and bigotry of all sorts is set free.

Having a not-quite-human class to blame for society’s woes, real and imagined, is a universal feature of totalitarian misosophy (my suggestion for the opposite of philosophy).
It ends always in the same place.

Conservatives have a constant need to be the victims, while they move the needle ever right. There is no compromise to be had with those who want your extinction. I don’t need to understand why they’ve convinced themselves this is a moral course of action to recognize where it leads, history tells us as you’ve pointed out.

I would say the hard right. The word conservative has been as effectively misappropriated as the word freedom by the hard right.

I might be wrong, but I still imagine that there is a space to the right of center that is legitimate within a plural republic. What almost all Republicans in government are currently promoting is fascist and corporatocratic, not conservative.

Similarly, Christian Nationalism is neither scriptural nor republican; it is insurrection politics of the sort to make the few honest Christians wince.
