cool tube question ...

Do you need to have intake and exhaust on a cool tube? I just purchased one, and a 6" 240cfm fan to suck the air out of the tube. Is it more effective to have another fan on the other end pulling air in?

I Have a 400w hps with a 200cfm 4in inline fan-filter. I think if you have any bigger of a light you need a 6in fan not a booster fan all though that fan you have might cut it if you arnt in a closet lol.

Growing in a 6'x3'x6' plywood box in my barn. I have 2 windows open all the time on each side of the box with a fan blowing fresh air in, also I have a intake and exhaust with 2 more oscillation fans inside box. Very well ventilated...

1 fan is enough but 2 would be more efficient. if one fan has a lower cfm than the other use the lower one for the intake and the larger one for the exhaust.

Ok good, it just gets so Damn hot in there. Even with all my ventilation its usually 90 degrees, and that's with cfls and t8s.

ALWAYS PUSH air thru a cool tube with a fan!
If you want to pull air your fan need to be in metal.
if you pull air thru a cooltube there is a risk for the fan to melt due to the heat.

cooltubes are usualy connected like this:

CARBON FILTER---->FAN--->COOLTUBE--->OUT

or

INTAKE----COOLTUBE-----OUT

good luck :)

Take it back and get a good sealed glass hood.

is it gonna work this way if we let the door open for intake ?

250W COOLTUBE-----OUT

or

250W GLASS SEALED HOOD REFLECTOR-----OUT

which one would you suggest?

You don't lose lumen with a cool tube. In all the years I've been reading here and other grow forums I have yet to find one legit piece of info proving that claim.
