Couple quesstions first time grow

Nope, some people use veg and then flower CFL's but most just use a mixture. I went with auto flowers because they grow in small spaces, the light not being have to be switched, and you get 1-2 oz per plant in only 8 weeks. I'm new to all this too happy, but been mainly reading about autos for a few months now, so Im no expert by far. And with the CFL's they are low wattage bulbs, so they dont produce alot of heat, and there is no red flags for electric

LOL I hear ya Jonny, and this is my first grow, didnt realy know how high they should be, I was under the assumption that it was just a matter of how far the HPS was to the plants

an easy fix for that problem is to put your plants lower to the ground and rig up a pulley system on your light so you can control the distance between the light and the plants. very easy to do and prolly wont cost anything if you have some old rope layin around somewhere. rope isnt very expensive anyways. lookin great tho. happy growing and as always, stay smokey :leaf:

Hey 805 Thanks, Your saying just have the plants above the intake? It wouldnt be hard if I just put them on the floor if that would be ok. Its in my buddys barn basement, very cool, 40's-50's. As far as the 7th plant, I wasnt expecting to have a 7th, it just sprouted from old soil, How I dont know but it did. I'll cut the intake hole so that whole window fan fits in it and duct tape it.
No Im not saying its bad, but your fan looks pretty powerful. Yes you want your babies to receive wind from the fan, but you dont want to go over board and cause stress on them. If you put your plants on a stand just above the fan, they will still get plenty of flowing air, but wont be pushed sideways by the exessive force of the fan. Might as well just throw that bad boy in then. Let me know how that works for your temps, weird that you have such high temps when your box is in a pretty cold zone.

Yea I know, I cant figure it out. Right now I left the cab door open an inch and its holding 77 degrees and 37% Humidity.......And I'm gonna go over and do some rearranging today, I'm also going to work on a new CFL hood with enough sockets to hold 19 CFL's, try to eliminate the HPS maybe that will cut down the heat. Im also putting them on the floor and making the intake hole bigger. Gonna make the hole so the fan thats there fits in snug, just have to figure out how to make it light tight incase I ever want to grow Phenos

Here's some pics from last night. The one still has some yellowing on the tips, dont have any idea what its from. The one with the temp gauge in the backround, as you can see the 2 leafs are curling downward. Temps are still good til I make some changes later with the door open a few inches

Ok, moved the shelf down, as you can see its not the flimsy wire shelf. I cut the intake hole out so the fan fits in it, and moved the side CFL's down an inch over the plants, I also added a bowl of water in front of the intake fan to boost Huidity, lets see what the temps are in a few hrs.....Tomorrow the little ones will be getting 1/2tsp Grow Big 1/2 tsp Big Bloom

Just wanted to thank everyone for helpin me out, I respect everyones Judgement here and will do whatever people advise, Im just a newbie, everyone mostly here have a few grows under their belt. I wish I had some extra money to spend, get a decent fan some other toys, but I've been out of work for 6 months due to a back injury, and Im barely makin rent right now. So I realy do appreciate the little DIY tricks. I was hopin to get a little extra money for bills and some smoke out of this adventure, I plan to just keep putting new ones in as I harvest and never shutting it down, Like I said, Thats My goal, wether or not it works out and I get the hand of it is another thing..lol

I think it will work fine for you. Being able to accept advice is half the battle and you have the other half covered already. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Jonny, I love help, I have no problem with that.........
Quick Question everyone, If I raise My HPS will it make the plants stretch a bit for me????? Wanna get some spacing on them didnt know if this would work.

If you raise your HPS the plants will definitely stretch a little. However, stretching is not advantageous. You want the distance between each internode (budding point) to be as close together as possible. This will produce heavier more compact buds. A stretchy plant will produce buds with less density. It's important to keep your light as close to your plants as possible without burning them. Light intensity degrades quickly the farther it travels. Also, perhaps you don't have the cash at the moment to deal with your heat problems, but too much heat, especially during flowering will affect yield greatly. When flowering, try to keep your temps below 28 degrees celcius with the lights on and even cooler when the lights are off. I once flowered plants in 32 degree temperatures. The smoke was still great, but yield was cut in half. You need to make those plants feel as though winter is approaching to really get the buds to thicken up. Plus, cool temperatures increase resin production.

The bigger one now 38 days old and the smaller sprouts are 10 Days
Thanks for that informative info there THC! I just gave them all a good feeding of 1/2tsp Grow Big 1/2 tsp Big Bloom....And the larger lowryder you see just got a dose of 1 Tablespoon Grow Big. And as always they got Blackstrap organic non sulpher mollases in with the mix. I'll put some pics up tonight when I go back to the grow area.

Hello everyone. Well the bigger lady that got stunted is now 11 inches, so atleast I'll get somethin out of her, as you can see shes got some frost goin on, hard to get nice color pics with the lights. The 10th pic is a plant that has 2 leafs curling downwards, don't know what its from or if I should worry, was like this even after they were fed yesterday, no discoloration or dry leafs just curled. And the 8th pic is a stunted one from what it seems. Maybe genetics, because the rest are thriving and doing great. I have this dresser thats 30 wide, 22 deep and 44 high, was wondering if someone could help me set this up stealth so I do it the right way the first time, keep in mind these are autos and do not need seperate light cycles or different bulbs for veg and flower. Seems like it would make a decent cab, wondering how many I can fit in there and what lights to use, My 400HPS would most likely be too hot for it, so was asking how many CFL's etc, what fans, where to place them etc any help would be greatly appreciated.

6th and 7th pic are the same plant at dif angle

Today I did the sugar and yeast in the 2 liter bottles for C02, I read that it helps them deal with any excessive heat so I have two bottles going in there that I just put in tonight. I used 1/2 Tsp of yeast to 3 cups brown sugar. Waited to see some bubles in a cup of water before I put them in the cab, so Now they have C02, I hung the hoses above the plants, one on the left hangin off the HPS and one on the right

Looking better man. The curling is probably because your lights are so closer to those specific ones, the drooping is usually from over watering, but you said that it was drooping before you gave them feed. Props for the DIY CO2, hadnt heard of that trick and might give it a whirl after some further research.
As for your dresser, could you include some pics with the drawers pulled out? Helps to see the insides as well as how the faces of the drawers fit in. Looks like a perfect stealth cab, as for lights, I couldnt tell you much about CFL. Like I said before, 250w HPS would probably be your best bet if you could develop the right circulation/ventilation of air. I would suggest saving your pennies and making sure you can control your environment better with good epuipment. Hope this helps a bit, but hey, its alllllllll trial and error to a certain extent....

Thanks 805! I'll put some pics up shortly. I found the c02 thing online, seems alot do it, they say 1 2 liter will do 6 plants for like a month or so, and brown sugar lasts longer than white. So I put 2 bottles for 6 just incase. I was told that c02 helps the plants deal with heat. If I can figure out how to make a cool tube out of my 400hps I'll use that

Well heres some pics. Today The flowering lowryder just got water with 2 tblspns of mollases and will only get that from here on out. The bigger sprout is getting huge its only 14 days old and 7-1/2 inches, Shes not showing sex from what I can see, but maybe you can see in the pics, but they're suppose to be Fems. All the others just got, 1tsp grow big and 1/2 Tiger bloom 1/2 table spoon Big Bloom....The flowering lowryder is getting worse with the yellowing, its climbing. The last time she got water she got plain water and was given just enough for just a bit of runoff like I was told, I Have no idea what to do being I have no calibration fluid to see what might be goin on the yellowing seems to be on just one side, the side that was facing the back wall, I rotated it to see if it makes a difference.......Also, big thanks to everyone that gave me links to DIY filters, but all I saw were big ones, if someone can send me a pic of filters on thier pc fans I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey, can someone give me an opinion on this, will it be better than CFL's in the dresser Im settin up?
http://www.greners.com/i/grow-lights/led-brand/glow-panel-45.html

Ok last night I didnt get any responses and she was dry so I ended up giving her 1 tblspn of grow big and just a dab of TB with mollases. As you can see shes yellowing up the one side and just a bit here and there, Im wondering if its because shes comin down to the home stretch. She was stunted at first, didnt think I was gonna get much out of her, but her cola is getting nice and thick and shes loaded with buds everywhere you look, and shes as big as a 2 liter bottle of soda. The bigger sprout thats 18 days old had one leaf drooping and starting to yellow, after last nights feeding the leaf is no longer hanging but I noticed the leafs are cured downwards, Then the other 18 day old has some side branching going on, and the others already have very small flowers, is that possible, all showed sex over the last 3 days all females, which is good being I ordered fems...lol For some reason just the light in some pics shining out of the cab make the leafs and tips look yellow, but they're not just the lowryder and the leaf on the right of the biggest sprout, hopin the biggest one packs on alot more frost before shes ready over the next 2 weeks. Wow, after germing issues due to inexp and wasted seeds I may finaly get some smoke after not having any for 3 months
