The US has National Historical Parks in 26 states, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands, but its next such park could be located as far from US shores as any explorer has ever traveled – namely, the Moon.
On Monday, Representatives Donna Edwards (D-MD) and Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) – both members of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee – proposed new legislation that would declare the lunar landing sites of Apollo missions 11 through 17 as a National Historical Park.

Our country is going to shit, and fast. The political discourse is disgusting. It went down hill when politicians and policy made their jobs a sport rather than a passion. Booker is probably the only example that Im aware of who actually is doing politics because he cares about the people. The other 99.9% can go jump off a cliff.

dam...how do you put a price on the moon and mars?We havent even started colonizing those places,yet real estate bids are only a couple steps away,there is no frontier that dosent have a pricetag attached to it eventualy.Kinda makes me disgusted.

hopefully it gets people wanting to invest in it and leads to hotels and lots of recreation locations on both of them. gravity is getting boring.

This enrages me. I go to the commissary and see the buck and some staff sergeant's families using food stamps! These kids are DYING for our country and they don't get paid enough to ..... Oh nevermind! Arrrrrrrrrgh!

hell no. that way i see it is that the moon is still an open frontier. so f'in what if our flag is up there. until it actually starts being colonized no one has any right to sell any of it. and if so, then shit i will sell you some deeds to some top quality crater front mountain property on the earth facing sunny side of the moon. let me just get the deeds out of my trunk first.

It doesn't matter where we go, our bodies we need gravity(eventually). I hope this isn't going to happen or at least it wont be a park. They can't be that stupid to build a park on the moon.

I made GOOD money when I was in. I know a lot of people while I was in that lived beyond their means. They didn't need the motorcycle in addition to the two vehicles, the two computers, all the nights clubbing and eating out. Maybe it's their own doing and you shouldn't feel sorry for them.

In southern california the money doesn't stretch very far. You add in a child with autism or something out of the budget occurs and you are hurting badly so there's that potential explanation too.

I have been saying it for years, this country is doomed. It's been a moneygrab by the ultra wealthy for about 12 years now. Keep feeding the peasants good news and Honey Boo Boo on their info box while you take all of their rights, and money.... The working class are being fleeced to death and don;t even realize it yet.


Any idiot that can balance a checkbook should be able to figure this out. What's our debt to income ratio? What is our defered maintenance? What are our future financial obligations? They are maxing out our credit cards (for cash) and we the people will be holding the bag. The US WILL go bankrupt within 10 years, perhaps 5.
