Crazy looking bug.

I like to squish them but they are fast and just circle around the stem until they get pissed off and fly away. I get the glassy winged ones. Just seen some the other day.

This is one of the reasons I never recommend using store brought sprays.. Not all work. You can use hand soap and mix it in a spray bottle with warm water and use that instead. Of course, spray a little on a few leafs to see how the plant reacts. I always wash off 10 minutes after I spray with soapy water to prevent the white residue

no, no they don't. just like your statement that leaf hoppers are a good bug is wrong . A spider isn't going to waste his time chasing microscopic mites on the undersides of leafs. He is going to spin a web and catch a sizeable prey. Even if a type of spider ate mites it would not keep the infestation down. You are assuming just because it is a spider it eats all bad bugs. LOL And spiders suck the body fluids out of their pray with fangs, What the hell are they going to put them in a mite ?

TWS is in fact correct about both points... Spiders, even small ones, won't waste their time on mites. And leaf hoppers ARE detrimental to your plants.

They suck the juices through the stem and leaves, leaving small holes. I battle them every year.

i used some malathion insecticide on and around my plants... if you prune and tie your plant so there is more sunlight and airflow it will stop these little buggers.

i had a couple daddy long legs around my plants.. i think they might be good beneficial predators for your ganja

I also have war with them, I using garlic,jalopeno,oil and some dishsoap spray. When i sprayed it i saw alot of them hop away, and even from plants near mine.

Buffalo leaf hoppers on my plants too. I just squish them when I see them. Haven't been too many around my parts. Funny how they circle around the stems when you spot them.

I got em too thought they were some sort of leaf hopper. The like one of my plants more than the other so about 4 days ago i sprayed it with insecticidal soap and it burnt some of my plant.
I squish them and they dont seem to be harming the plants.

If any one is from CA and can remember the oleanders that use to cover our freeways 20 years ago, the Glassy winged leaf hopper decimated them with a decease they can carry. They really mess with the Vineyards too.
