Ooooh I can't wait for the pics!

So cheese has very large buds? I have a freebie Cheese reg and auto from Dinafem that I've been thinking about trying out.

I found out the hard way about putting a seedling directly into clay pebbles too :(.

I hope everything works out with your Strawberry! What exactly is wrong with her?
Well, Strawberry Cheese was looking okay, compared to the rest of them. Just not growing at all and stuck on the first lil round leaves, just like the rest.
But seeing it today...
It looks like one of the kids has poked it or summin cos it's bent in half :(

Other seedlings are still okay though!
Well... lol
They still haven't grown on top, a little bit more growth below and that's it.

Liberty Haze, has done nothing since :( it's still barely three mm out of its shell and I reckon it's dead...

So, in the propo now, 2x kandy kush x skunk, 2x northern lights x blueberry, and 1x attempted first clone of caramelo, to see how well it works.

Aye with the pebbles... I think rockwool cubes are my way forward and I may just go buy more seeds too. Seed buying will have to wait till after the school holidays though... kids cost too much! lol I'd be so happy if I could feed my kids nutes instead of £100 trainers...

Cheese buds.
Are the densest I've seen. They don't always grow 'big' like some strains do but they're godamit big anyway lol the main difference is that they're dense as hell and lose relatively little weight after drying - so in a sense, they stay big instead of shrinking down like other 'big' buds do.

reg cheese should be okay. auto cheese, will be weaker and smaller than the original exodus and imo, I'd miss the auto's and go get some fems from, I think big buhda seeds. There is another farm that makes them, greenhouse seeds but they're not as good - apparently, or so I heard.
I have the lesser one, from greenhouse, but seems just fine to me :)
Hope that helps, J! :)

Hi Closet!
I'm glad that my efforts can go towards helping someone else :)
Yeah mate, the cheese is my fave strain by far and is perfect for mothering. It can take mucho stress and in fact likes it lol and clones very easily.
Got any pics of your baby to show us?

Heavyweight Budziller @ Week 8 of 10
Branches on this baby are properly hanging over with buddage ;)

Heavyweight Fruit Punch @ Week 6 of 8/9 maybe 10
This woman is becoming a beast!! cola's are filling out nicely and hope they have lots more filling to do :)
Very hard to photograph in my small space lol

Greenhouse Exodus Cheese @ Week 7 of 10
I took more pics, but they were shit and out of focus... the missing middle nuggets are kinda massive, as far as nugget size goes :)
These pics really don't do them any justice at all. Can't see the massive amounts of crystals present, specially on the FP, and you can't get a good feel of the girth on these babies :)
IMG-20120718-00171.jpgIMG-20120718-00172.jpg

Since a few hours ago, and my last update, Strawberry Cheesecake is now thinned, dried and facing the floor :(
I've gone and put the propo into my veg box for the more intense lighting. I figured if anything is going to save my SC, it's being put under a good light, rather than being under my kitchen strip light. Okay I guess for seeding, but not for healthy growth. Hopefully this'll help the other seedlings...
As a result, my veg box temps have gone up to 32C which is FAAAAR too hot :( So next on my agenda; hope my seedlings don't dry out proper in my veg box, and hope to find some way of cooling that box down further...

Will add a few veg pics later :)

Thanks man, but I don't think the SC is gonna survive this... I've emailed Herbies on the off chance that they'll replace them (both lib haze and SC died) hehehe bit cheeky cos I only ordered the two seeds hahaha but ya never know ;)
The freebies I got, are growing okay though. Effing typical eh LoL

They two were clones and their trunks were thickened and LS trained by super cropping during veg :)

Wow the trunks on those plants are insane . I want to learn how to do that! Those buds are looking super frosty. I can't wait to see the final harvest! Good work. :bigjoint:

Super cropping is quite the taboo subject these days LoL
My advice is to try it out on one branch and give it two weeks to see what it does.

Two methods that work for me;
The pinch - anywhere between nodes on bare stem. Pinch it hard so it dents the stem - do NOT break or tear the stem!
The twist - finger and thumbs, 1 inch gap between hands. Twist completely around until you hear or feel the snap! make sure you're listening keenly as you may miss it. You may need to twist it round fully at 360 degrees before you hear/feel the snap but it's okay. Either twist it back around to its original position or leave it where it snapped. just as long as it's supported well it WILL grow back :) And grow back stronger it will!

I tend to play with a strain first, to find out just how far I can stress it before it starts hating me.
I find that any amount of stress can be okay, just as long as lots of time is given for healing and after care (at least a week of lighter than normal nutes) rather than throwing it straight into flower - doing so will probably make her herm up.
That's why I say, sacrifice one branch to test things out on :)

I last week pinched a few of my flowering FP branches - something I NEVER do - and this week those same branches are filling out bigger than the others LoL hahaha
See how different strains do different things :)

Thanks for sticking around rdub - I can't wait till harvest either! ;)

I know your method...but...if you only use positioning to modify growth! I use s hook's and weight...acomplishs the same thing but never harm's the lady..same amount of work just bend fim and your golden it never damage's plant and never doesn't do what you wan't! Your plant's are awesome you know I'm not criticizing your style as I think your a great grower...you know that! but you know that if you pinch twist tear too much you've done damage! Stress is good at time's but.it never pay's to set plant's "back" as time is bud...

I have to agree - over stress = herm
However... LoL
I have to argue too that it's totally strain dependant. One of my BZ branches was cropped so hard that it actually tore and hung by a single thread!
Currently it's still hanging by the same thread and is probably one of the bigger buds. I'll have to try and get some pics for you :)

Weights and string are my bestest friends for LST! No one can go wrong with light stress training, positively fool-proof.
I was hugely worried about going into heavy stress training - but once I found my strains limits I could go mad with it and am now much more confident with twisting and pinching lol :)

Thanks for the subtle props there too Jack! Much appreciated :) your set up makes mine look pale.

Your setup is better and you grow awesome...now you have have more experience with different strain's as I have grown over 40 year's but only a handfull of strain's!! Outdoor was allway's an early cali sativa called big bear and since indoor's have been stuck to four strain's due to lack of seed's available to me from friend's(Useually don't buy!)so your imput is more worldly I can only speak of what I know! I have done "heavy" with G13 and it bit me in the but! could have been my style but actually spent much time and received no gain! Still new to these indoor tecniques...I'm a vien-nam vet with a kinder gentler machine gun hand...ha ha...Are you going to jar cure you ladie's??

That's excellent! this is actually my fave pic of the update too lol been perving on it all morning haha
As for being good - it's only really a case of keeping on with the growing ;) learn as you go and have knowledgeable people around you, that's the only secret...

Wow every1 is full of props for me today hehehe I secretly like it :)
and from a 40 year grower, that's proper! Sounds like you need to get over to Herbies Head shop and pick-n-mix a couple of new strains...

It's funny you say that about the G13 - That's part of my Budziller's genetics is the G13 haze, the other part is skunk so I have no idea what happened there... perhaps you just overly over stressed her lol it is possible...
As I said to matey earlier in this thread, just try one branch and pinch it once a week in different places and watch it slowly thicken and woodify :) snapping and twisting may well be a little too harsh on your strain for a first experiment...

Jars...
I dunno...
My last crops were jarred. I was okay with it. But if you forget to burp it daily just a few times your food turns really foul smelling. Like a really peppery type of smell and I fucking hate it and it never goes away!!!!!!
I was told recently that zip bags are better. Not sure what to make of that...
That's why I dunno... lol
I probably will be jarring them as I see no viable alternative.
You've been doing it for 40 years! Surely you'd have a fantastic method of curing?

I find a top view gives a good perspective of the amount of food on a plant and density of single colas. Whereas it's hard to judge density from a side view.
That first pic looks lush ;) As does the second. Buds are looking phat and friendly. Possible deficiencies? With the yellowing it looks like what I've got, magnesium deficiency.

So you reckon that the zip bag is better too huh?
I shall have to research this... favour is not for the jars it would seem.

Had CaMg before i received my supply but doesn't matter that late in flower!! so it's dying now only water for the last two week's!!I've had problem's with jar's! I use cookie tin's 16" dia work well but difficult to open...I lost a couple of finger's my dexterity isn't what it used to be!! I am looking now at possible cure's that are pretty fool proof!I'll let you know if I discover anything!!jack...notice the new girl's show no nute def's!!

I just got a reply from Herbies...

They won't replace my lost genetics as it's not their fault :(

But...
They will send me out two extra fem freebies with my next order. I'm not entirely sure I'm happy with that, but at least that's something good and two seeds more than I will have had anyways so I guess it's all good really :)
I just gotta go order more seeds now lol

I'm thinking I may go for the Liberty Haze again. The picture in the description looks bad ass. Then another, I haven't decided yet...

Cumbers my friend .... :-)
yes the picture is awsome fella ... but a photo is only 2 dimentional, nothing beats opening the flower room door and sitting in front of them going into a trance does it ;-) .... thats the bit i like!

i'll hopefully collect the shed friday .... have the base done by middle of next week (18" dwarf wall and backfilled with concrete required :-( ) and building up by the sunday, weather permiting. and yes mate you'll be the first to get a link for my new build
