Cut fan leaves during flowering

Alright just was wondering if any one has cut off big fan leaves before harvest, so more growth will go to the buds and not the fan leaves. I have about two weeks to go in the grow maybe three. I was thinking about it and just didnt want to go and do it so i want to see what every one has to say. Do you think it would shock it, kill it ? I have gone this far and dont want to mess it up, but i am going for a good harvest.

Yes you can But i suggest trying to move the fan leaves So the buds can get light first but if that isnt possible go ahead and snip that fan leaf off. Its fine it wont damage it.

the buds dont process anywhere near the light that fan leaves do. tucking the fan leave behind the bud will hinder its growth.

I would take off the fan leaves on the last 2 weeks if you have plenty of bud leaf which it looks like you do, I vote Hell Yeah.
+rep, Nice Garden Amigo. Very Nice. Very Green and looks like you took your time.

Dont cut your fanleaves, if they look bad you can give em a small tug and if they let go good if they dont leave it on. Try to just tuck them away or tie em up. Good luck with your grow.

this is terrible advise. the last 2 weeks are when the plant bulks up the most. why would you take away its biggest power producers when they are needed most.

i vote some people should stop handing out bad advise.

The reason I do is and suggest that this grower should too, is because he had a proper veg and has SO many bud leafs that taking off his fan leafs the last two weeks will not harm his plant at all. All those bud leaves that are so close to the bud will now be the major suppliers of food to the bud, and so close. The fan leafs at this point are just Piggies, OINK.
I love to see a Plant in flower that looks like it had a descent veg.

Thanks every one for the quick replys, i will leave this one to grow with fan leaves. I did trimm some of the fan leaves in half, half was roasted totaly fried so i think those were ok to trim. I am going to do a sog grow for my next grow so i might trim half or a few of those plants fan leaves the last two weeks to see the difference between the two ways. I am now looking forward to the last two weeks if thats when they get the biggest. I just used some shooting powder from House and Garden and i can see major growth in the last 4 days so if there going to keep getting bigger i have to get some wires to help them stay up there getting really heavy well some are thanks agian to every one that put there two cents in keep up the growing gotta love smoking your own fresh nugs bongsmilie

Trimming is a delicate subject that always stirs some good controversy. Personally, I do a bit of trimming while my plants are in veg but never touch them after that. Only the dead stuff gets removed during flowering.

I agree with boneman, cutting during beg is perfectly fine to give the plants the general shape or position you want... Once flowering begins if a leaf starts yellowing I'll pull on it, if it dont come off I try again the next day. When I have the HUGE fanleaves trying to cover main tops of other plants I try to just tuck the fan down under the bud, the leaf can get lite under the bud but the bud cant get lite under the leaf... That might be undecipherable sic?? Sorry, and good luck, looking awesome so far!!

its quite simple...the more leaves you have(fan or otherwise) the more sunlight your plant can process. if thats not explanation enough for you then go on growing inferior weed.

i trim hella stuff in veg...but its all new growth tips beneath the canopy that dont get good light. why trim good leaves to light crappy shoots?

Slik, we have to stop meeting like this...

Do not cut your leaves....it's just silly. You trim hedges, not weed. All you do is weaken the plant by wounding it. Every cut makes the plant send energy to the wound to ward off incoming bacteria. It's no different than you cutting yourself. You need to put a salve on it lest infection sets in...weed is the same.

MAN, ENOUGH OF PEOPLE WANTING TO HURT PLANTS FOR BIGGER HARVEST.... ITS BULL****
imagine the fan leaves are your solar panels... THOSE BIG BIG SOLAR PANELS like you would see on the roof of a huuuuge factory....
And then the buds are the light..... light wont help to catch the sun rays... But the Panels will!!!!
Its great to be on forums... but you need to do a little reading of your own, in Real Good sources if you actually care about your grow... Once youve done that... you use forums to complete your knowledge and help you find answers to questions that you cant figure out...
Its like the 10th time i see this question on the forum, and its about the 10th time i reply, but it doesnt seem to change anything...People who are telling you to cut your fan leaves, think its a good idea because that is what they have ALWAYS done.. they never tryed leaving them in peace... cause if they had... they wouldnt be telling you to cut yours off.. or they want you to have a smaller harvest and hurt your plant while your at it...
So NO dont cut them, and if you do... too bad for youuu man
Till then,
Keep it green in love And UNDER JAH LIGHT

My best yeild so far was 7.5 oz and The best herb in town. Other than that I harvest 4-6 oz per plant.:weed:
So hold your tounge, unless you can top me?

hve you ever tried it my way? then hold your fucking tounge. ive tried it both ways with countless strains and one thing is certain, leave the leaves and you get bigger buds.

you can talk about your harvests all you want because talk is cheap.

like i said, do what ever you want. but if you continue to cut you leaves your hindering your plant.
